Just Believe

I made this card last summer, it may or may not be a CASE, I really can't remember and since my to CASE file mysteriously disappeared from my computer I don't have any idea.  Sometimes I try to work outside my comfort zone and so I CASE or I try to make something in a style I am not used to.  This card fits that description.  The large image from the stamp set is easy to use ans I have posted a few cards using that stamp, these two are not so easy in my mind to design a card around.  But here are the details.
  • The card base is Crumb Cake with a front of Marina Mist.
  • 3 of the circles were stamped with Marina Mist on Very Vanilla these were mounted on Early Espresso CS and 2 were stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake
  • The stamped frame for the thank you was stamped directly onto the card front with VersaMark the thank you was stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and cut to fit the the frame
  • The Marina Mist circles were popped up with Dimensionals, I started by putting the two outside circles on first, then worked into the center.
  • I added a pearl to the center of the flower in each circle.

CASEd Nature Walk

This is one of the cards I CASEd using Nature Walk. the original was done by Lisa Young. http://addinkandstamp.blogspot.com/2011/01/not-time-to-be-cheap.html
Here are some details on mine
  • Card Base is Always Artichoke
  • Six squares of Watercolor paper punched with the 1 1/4" square punch. Each stamped with a portion of a stamp from Nature Walk, using Stazon. Colored with Markers and an Aqua Painter.
  • Six 1 3/8" squares punched from Pacific Point, six square cut 1 1/2" from Cajun Craze. These were layered with a finished image.
  • I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip 3 1/2" x 5" ran it through the big shot in the Square Lattice folder. Layered all on the card base.
Thanks Lisa for the inspiration piece.

Nature Walk

I love the images from this set from the new Occasions Mini.  I have seen some cute Vintage Collage  cards, not my style but one I want to try.  Until then here is one that I have done.
  • Card base is Marina Mist, with a front of Very Vanilla.
  • The flower image and the bee were both stamped with Stazon on Watercolor Paper, the bee was punched with the Tag punch. I colored the images with Markers and an Aqua Painter. I layered both images on Daffodil Delight CS.
  • The flower was layered twice the bottom layer is Marina Mist CS that I ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder, then added to the front of the card.
  • The bee was added overlapping the flower image.
I like the clean look of this card, I have CASEd two other cards using this set and will post them for you in the upcoming days. If I achieve a Vintage/Collage card that I like I will post that as well.

Teddy. . . baby card

This card is made from the Teddy and Train stamp set.  The only colors on this card are Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, and Crumb Cake.
  • The card base is Very Vanilla, with a layer of Certainly Celery and then a layer of Very Vanilla that has Bundle of Joy stamped in the lower corner in Certainly Celery, then the CS was ran through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.
  • A 1" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla was ran through the Big Shot with the Finial Press folder, then layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery CS I knotted a piece of Crumb Cake Seam Binding around the two layers then added it to the card front.
  • I stamped the bear on a square of Very Vanilla and layered it onto a square of Certainly Celery and added it to the card.
This is a very fast and easy card to make. I think it could be for either a baby boy or girl.  I hope you have a wonderful day and can find time to stamp(holiday, kids home who knows. . .)

Plane and Simple- 4 You

Here is another card using the Plane and Simple stamp set as well as some retired flight charts from my husband. To my friend Jean, this plane is in an even steeper nose dive then the last one, maybe he is barn storming. On to the card details. . .
  • The card base is Not Quite Navy with a layer of Rich Razzleberry and then a layer done with the flight chart. Two opposite corners were punched with the corner rounder.
  • I stamped the plane on Very Vanilla with Early Espresso ink, rounded two corners and layered it onto NQN with the two corners rounded.
  • On scraps of Very Vanilla I stamped  the 4 You from Tiny Tags with NQN, the goggles with Soft Suede and the compass with Rich Razzleberry. I punched the phrase with the Jewelry Tag punch and cut out the other two images. I also punched a tag from NQN and Rich Razzleberry.
  • I attached the 3 tags to the corner of the matted plane, layering the colored tags behind the phrase, with a brad.
  • I attached compass directly to the card front in the upper corner then overlapped the plane on top then added the goggles with Dimensionals.
I like this card better then the first, my husband likes the other one. How about you?

Help! and Fifth Avenue Floral

I have had random computer problems and have lost many of my files (both Stamping and Scouts) one of the files was my CASEd file, and so while I know I CASEd this card I can't remember how exact I was or who I CASEd.  Please if you know where I may have seen this card let me know(I do know from my photo log the this picture was taken 9/3/10).

So on to the card. . .
  • Card base is Blushing Bride with a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Regal Rose, a layer of 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Whisper White and a layer of 3 3/4" x 5" Blushing Bride DSP
  • The images are stamped with Stazon onto Watercolor Paper scraps and colored them with Blushing Bride, Regal Rose, Melon Mamba, and Chocolate Chip, then cut them out.
  • I used a 3" x 3 3/8" piece of Watercolor Paper, with Stazon I stamped the lily off center and off the edge and colored it with Blushing Bride and Melon Mamba , I stamped the daisy type flower in the upper corner off the edge and colored it Melon Mamba and Chocolate Chip.  I layered the rose and the second daisy type flower with Dimensionals. I layered the Watercolor Paper on Regal Rose and punch a scrap of Whisper White with the Scallop Trim Border punch and added it to the bottom off the layers
  • The phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped on Whisper White with Melon Mamba and punched with the Word Window, layered onto a punched Blushing Bride Modern Label with two of the medium sizes Pearl Jewels this is raised on Dimensionals and layered onto a punched Blushing Bride Wide Oval with a Regal Rose Large Oval in the center of it
I really like this card and want to thank whoever created the inspiration piece!

I've been crazy busy!

So it has been a few days since I have posted- but I have been busy while away!  I have had 2 Club classes and an Open Studio day as well as planning and designing for an upcoming class.
On the personal side of life, last week I was busy getting things ready for my youngest son's (Trevor) and his Friend Riley's Eagle Court of Honor. I stamped the Eagle from In Wilderness and matted them with Scout colors (Handsome Hunter/Basic Gray for Venture Scouts, Always Artichoke/Only Orange for Varsity Scouts and Old Olive /Creamy Caramel for Scouts) for the fronts of the programs.  I also made 7 batches of cookies for refreshments (Riley's mom had been ill all week and is expecting a baby next week)
Saturday night was the Court of Honor. . . a proud moment!

Trevor(in the middle) and Riley taking the oath and pledge
The District Executive is administering the Oath (both boys work for him at summer camp last summer)

I am pinning the Eagle on Trevor, my husband watching
yes a lovely shot of my back :)

Trevor is pinning me with the Mother's pin

This week I have had meetings with the Scout district Key3 and written the district newsletter for tomorrows Round Table.  So between , family, scout and stamping I'm not sure if there is room for anything else in my life.

I thought I'd share something my oldest son, Ryan made.  In his religion class he was challenge to share his testimony of Christ using his hobby or talent the following picture isn't the best but unfortunately it is the only one taken(his teachers cell phone)

I will post a card tomorrow... so have a great day and try to find some time to stamp something!

Medallion- Birthday

I had a busy day yesterday!  We made birthday cards from 10 am until 5:30pm, a long day, but fun.  Here is one of the cards we made.
I Cased this card but now I can't find the link, the original card was a Thank you card,  if I cased you please let me know so I can add the link.

Here's how we did it:

• Fold the Whisper White CS in half

• On the piece of Crumb Cake CS do the following: Stamp the Medallion image with Versamark and stamp off the edge of the CS covering 2/3 of the Crumb Cake CS with the image, pour White embossing powder over image shaking the excess back into the container, melt with the heat gun. Using Basic Grey stamp the Birthday Wishes to the left just below the image.

• Layer the Crumb Cake CS onto the Basic Black CS. Poke a small hole in the center of the medallion and add a Button Brad.

• Wrap a Piece of the striped Ribbon around the card front then layer onto the card base

• On a scrap of Whisper White CS stamp the "4 You" in basic Grey and punch out with the Jewelry Tag punch, pin tag to the knot using the safety pin

• If desired add a phrase to the inside

I hope you are all keeping warm, it is 10 degrees outside right now, boy am I glad it is warm inside!
