Pure Gumption

It's that time of year, school is ending and Graduation time is here.
One of the local High School's Colors are Navy, light blue and White. One of the local Universities is Navy and White.

  • The card base is Marina Mist CS layered with Night of Navy.
  • I ran a piece of Whisper White CS through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.
  • Using the Marina Mist and Night of Navy Markers I inked up the stamp and then stamped it on the Whisper White CS.
  • The "cap" was made with Night of Navy CS and the tassel was made with Bakers Twine that I colored with the Night Of Navy Marker. I used Dimensionals to pop it up on the front of the card.
So this was the first if the card I made.

Label Love- sneak peek

I had some left over paper that I had made for the card in this post.  It worked so well as the background for this card using a new stamp set called Label Love.

  • The card base is a New In Color called Crisp Cantaloupe, I knotted some White Taffeta Ribbon around some paper that I  splattered with the ink  a couple of weeks ago.
  • On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped the image from Label Love in Calypso Coral and punched it with the New Artisan Label Punch. I pooped it up with Dimensionals over the ribbon.
A quick and easy card!

Pleasant Poppies

I bought the background stamp Pleasant Poppies several months ago but this is the first time I have used it.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla CS that has Pleasant Poppies stamped on it in Stazon(my favorite black).
  • On Watercolor Paper I stamp the clump of poppies that are on the left side when stamped, I used Stazon so I could use an Aqua Painter and Ink to color it. I used Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry and Pool Party inks.
  • I layered the image onto Old Olive CS and layered it onto the card base,
  • I stamped the phrases from Petite Pairs in Pear Pizzazz on a scrap of Very Vanilla CS and punched it with the 1 1/.4" Circle punch. I punched a 1 3/8" Circle of Real Red to layer it on and used a Dimensional to pop it up on the card.
So glad that these two stamp sets are not retiring.

More Sneak Peeks

Here are two cards basically the same.
I was having a hard time deciding if I wanted to use Whisper White or Very Vanilla CS so I tried both.
First I tried Very Vanilla...

  • Card base is Coastal Cabana(new In color)CS layered with Strawberry Slush(new In color)CS.
  • I ran a piece of Very Vanilla CS through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, then layered it on the card.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS, cut as a tag, I stamped a phrase from Really Good Greetings(New stamp set) in Coastal Cabana. I layered it onto Coastal Cabana CS and cut it tag shaped. I added it to the front of the card.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS I stamped a second phrase from the set in Strawberry Slush. I flagged on end of the CS then popped the flagged end with a Dimensional over the tag.
  • I made a clay button(new Product) and colored it with an Aqua Painter and Strawberry Slush Ink. I used Glue Dots to tack it down over the end of the CS.
So then I decided to do it with Whisper White...
  • The card base and first layer are the same as the first card.
  • I ran a piece of Whisper White CS through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and added it to the card.
  • The tag was stamped the same as the first but on Whisper White this time, I add a small (Strawberry Slush)butterfly cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to the tag.
  • The second phrase was done on Whisper White this time and instead of the button I added a Clay Flower(new) I colored it with an Aqua Painter and Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry.
So there they are which one do you like best?

Simply Sketched Sneak Peek II

First, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers!

This image is what I bought Simply Sketched for! I used five New products on this card.

  •  The card base is Pear Pizzazz a returning color to the Subtles Ink family. The front is Very Vanilla the was ran through the Big Shot in a new embossing folder called Modern Mosaic(there is a matching Punch).
  • I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper and then cut it out with a Ovals Collection Framelit, I cut a piece of Old Olive with the next size larger. I colored the poppy with a New In Color Strawberry Slush and with Old Olive with shadows done in Soft Sky.
  • I stamped the phrase from a New stamp set called Label Love, in Strawberry Slush, on a scrap of Very Vanilla and punched it out with a New punch called Artisan Label. I layered it onto a Decorative Label punch Old Olive CS I ran through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I cut away the center of the Old Olive piece so that it fit around the phrase. The phrase is popped up on the piece with Dimensional and added to the card.
So I hope you like my sneak peek, I can't wait until June 1 when we can order from the complete catalog!

Simply Sketched (sneak peek)

Simply Sketched is a Hostess set in the upcoming catalog. I loved it so much that I didn't want to wait and earn it so I paid for it ;). So here is a card with one of its images.
  • The card base is Very Vanilla with a front of Soft Suede.
  • I ran a piece of returning Pear Pizzazz through the Big Shot in the Flower Garden Embossing Folder. I layered it onto the Soft Suede front.
  • I stamped the image onto Watercolor paper with Stazon and painted the image with ink and an Aqua Painter. I cut it out with the Ovals Collection Framelits. I layered it onto an oval of Baked Brown Sugar(new in color). I attached it to the card.
  • I stamped a phrase from the set onto a scrap of Very Vanilla in Soft Suede and cut it using a Apothecary Accents Framelits. I sponged Soft Suede on the edges then popped it up on the card with Dimensionals.
I can't wait until the the new catalog official launch date!

Seriously

Have you ever started cleaning and sorting hoping to make things easier to find? It seems that everytime I start it takes longer than I expect and while in progress I can't find anything!  This time it is my craft room. With the retirement going on I started collecting everything that I will be selling at a discount and in the process I lost the cord to my iphone and couldn't download anything to post. Well I found it this morning and thought I share a card I received.
Stampin' UP! has started a program called Paper Pumpkin you can sign up for it and every month they send a papercrafting kit to you. I haven't signed up because when I am spending money I want  to see what I am getting before I pay.  Aprils kit was for these cards. Many demos were upset with the "love your guts" phrases, I was sad I couldn't get it because I hadn't signed up for it. I mentioned on a demo board that I thought it was cute, all my life we have used that expression and I thought it would have made some of my siblings smile getting a card with that on. Well another demo, Amy Koenders said she had made her cards and if I want to trade some product for it she would trade. Well with the stamp set she sent this finished card. Cute huh?

So thanks Amy!
