Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

August 2015 Blog Hop photo August 2015 Banner.jpg
Thanks for joining us on this month's hop!
Our Blog Hop runs in a circular fashion.  No matter where you begin, you'll wind up back in the exact same place again if you keep going to the "next" blog.  It works the same way whether you do the usual forward through the blog posts or if you work your way through in reverse order
You may have hopped her from my granddaughter Jaylin's blog, she enjoys stamping and see things in a way different from my own, she keeps me on my toes.

This month we are highlighting the stamp set that is this years Ronald McDonald House set "Sprinkles of Life". The stamp set can be found on page 189 of the annual catalog. $3 of every set sold is donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. There is a punch "Tree Builder" that can be bought to go with this stamp set.

This is the  first card I made with this set.

More Sneak Peeks

Here are two cards basically the same.
I was having a hard time deciding if I wanted to use Whisper White or Very Vanilla CS so I tried both.
First I tried Very Vanilla...

  • Card base is Coastal Cabana(new In color)CS layered with Strawberry Slush(new In color)CS.
  • I ran a piece of Very Vanilla CS through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, then layered it on the card.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS, cut as a tag, I stamped a phrase from Really Good Greetings(New stamp set) in Coastal Cabana. I layered it onto Coastal Cabana CS and cut it tag shaped. I added it to the front of the card.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS I stamped a second phrase from the set in Strawberry Slush. I flagged on end of the CS then popped the flagged end with a Dimensional over the tag.
  • I made a clay button(new Product) and colored it with an Aqua Painter and Strawberry Slush Ink. I used Glue Dots to tack it down over the end of the CS.
So then I decided to do it with Whisper White...
  • The card base and first layer are the same as the first card.
  • I ran a piece of Whisper White CS through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and added it to the card.
  • The tag was stamped the same as the first but on Whisper White this time, I add a small (Strawberry Slush)butterfly cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to the tag.
  • The second phrase was done on Whisper White this time and instead of the button I added a Clay Flower(new) I colored it with an Aqua Painter and Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry.
So there they are which one do you like best?

Trust God

I'm excited about the coming Color Refresh I decided to use some of the returning ink.

  • The card base is Crumb Cake with a front of Calypso Coral.
  • I ran a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake CS through the Big Shot into the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, then wrap a piece of lace from the Artisan Embellishment Kit around it and added it to the the front.
  •  I had a Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral Marker so I used the Color Spritzer Tool to Splatter the coming colors onto a strip of Glossy White CS. Using Soft Suede Ink I stamped a phrase from Trust God onto the splattered Glossy White CS and added it over the lace.
  • Using Stazon I stamped the bee from Natures Walk 3 times onto Vellum CS and colored the bee with the Crushed Curry marker and cut them out and added them to the card front.
As you can see I'm having fun with the coming colors!

Magic Snowflake Club Valentine Card

So I'm leaving town until Monday so I thought I would share the card that I chose to teach the Magic Snowflake Technique in club(and yes everyone ordered the Hearts a Flutter bundle) I hope you aren't disappointed in the card I chose.

  • The card base is Whisper White, a front of Pretty in Pink layered with a piece of Crumb Cake that was run through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.
  • I used the Hearts a Flutter stamp set to do the technique, the reinkers I used were Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red. I used the Hearts a Flutter Framelits to cut them out.
  • I really didn't string the banner, I only added the bows at both ends to make it look like it. The hearts were popped up with Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the "Love" from Pennant Parade in Rose Red on Whisper White and puched with the Jewelry Tag punch I tied it to one of the bows.
So I hope that you like the card I chose!

Honeycomb Birthday

Honeycomb anyone?

I love embossing folders and I always end up buying each one that comes out, sadly this just didn't work as I had hoped it would. I'm just not liking this card.
  • The card base is Whisper White, the front ran through the Big Shot with the new embossing folder Honeycomb.
  • I embossed the DSP Sycamore Street with the Honeycomb folder then cut the honeycombs out and added them to the centers of the honeycomb base.
  • I stamped the phrase from Itty Bitty Banner in Island Indigo onto Whisper White and cut it with the framelit.  I layered it onto a larger banner in Pool Party and layered that onto Tangerine Tango.
Definitely not my favorite, but I'll keep trying until I make a card I like with it!
