Itty Bitty Banners- Thank You

I know I have mentioned it before but I have had a great need for thank you cards this year.  It has been a year full of surgeries for my husband and myself.  In February my husband had total knee replacements for both his knees. June I had both of my knee scoped, September I had a partial rotator cuff tear repaired as well as a spur removed and two of the bones shaved down in my right shoulder. Next month I'll have my left shoulder done. Through out all of the recoveries we have had many friends and neighbors help us out, we have had many meals brought to us. Thus the need for Thank you cards.

July is our Birthday month. Tomorrow is my oldest sons 20th birthday. I figured since Lego was one of his favorite toys from the time he was 3 that this would be a great card for him.

Circle Card Thinlits Die- Spinner Card.

I was asked if the card I shared in the blog hop really spins, and the answer is yes! I thought I'd share how I made it.

To begin, you will need half a sheet of cardstock as well as a pice of coordinating cardstock. You will need the Circle Card Thinlit as well as the Circle Collection Framelit. You will need Bakers Twine, Glue Dots, 2 1/2" Circle Punch and what ever element you want as the spinner, Any punched element that fits inside the opening will work. So think flowers, butterfly etc.

Start by adding DSP if desired. If you add DSP do not add adhesive to the area that will have the circle cut out. Place the the cardstock with the Circle Card Thinlit on the Magnetic base of the Big Shot add the 4th from the smallest Circle Collection Framelit centered in the circle of the Thinlit, run it through the Big Shot. Take the card out and fold on the score lines as you normally would.

Punch 2 circles with the 2 1/2" circle punch  and then run them through the Big Shot with the forth Circle Framelit centered in the circles. These will be used later to frame the opening in the card.  Use the leftover circles to punch 2 each of the butterflies(or any embellishment that you want to use). Cut a piece of Bakers Twine and use Glue Dots to stack your punched pieces and adhere them firmly to the twine.

Use Mini Glue Dots to stretch the twine tautly between the top and bottom of the opening, making sure that the embellishment is clear of the edges. Trim the ends of the twine and use the circular frames to cover the ends and glue dots as well as to frame the opening on both sides. 

Stamp and embellish in any way that is pleasing to you.

Before placing the card in an envelope wind the butterfly by twisting the string, with the card closed it holds the butterfly in place, once the card is opened the string unwinds and the butterfly spins.

Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit part 1

Stampin' Up has released early a card kit that will be in the upcoming annual catalog. The kit is called "Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit" the cost is $19.95. I ordered one and have decided that it is worth the cost. You get the supplies for 20 cards. You can buy the kit here.

• The kit includes:
• Cardstock and envelopes for 20 cards
• Twine, clip and adhesive die cut embellishments
• 3 clearmount stamps and a block(not the same blocks that are in the catalog)
• Stampin Dimensionals
• Basic Gray Ink Spot
• A full colored brochure with instructions/layouts for 20 cards.

Over the next few post I will share cards I made using the kit. The kit makes 3 1/2"x5" cards. I use 4 1/4"x5 1/2" cards so since the kit shows layouts for 20 cards I am showing them stepped up to fit the card size I use.

So I cut the cardstock from the kit in half(grid paper) and built the card as the layout showed. I layered it on Whisper White CS and Crumb Cake CS base.

Inside:

On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped a phrase from Itty Bitty Banners using Calypso Coral ink cutting it out with the corresponding Framelit, I used the star from the Thinlits to cut stars from Pistachio Pudding and Calypso Coral.

Another Birthday Card!

• The card base is Very Vanilla CS layered with 5 3/8" x 4 1/4" Real Red CS Layered again with a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Modern Melody DSP.
• I made two banners from two more pieces of Modern Melody DSP layering one on Basic Black CS and one on Real Red CS.
• I made mini banners from Basic Black and Very Vanilla CS using the Bitty Banners Framelits.
• I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Real Red onto Very Vanilla CS I cut it out with the Circle Framelits. I cut the next larger Circle from Basic Black CS.

I like how this card turned out!

For the Newlyweds

I made another Wedding card to add to my rack.  White and Strawberry.

• The card base is Whisper White CS layered with Shimmery White CS. I rounded the corners on both pieces.
• The cake is three different sizes of rectangles of Whisper Whiter CS with the top corners rounded. I ran each rectangle through the Big Shot with a different Embossing Folder. I used Beautifully Baroque, Perfect Polka Dots and from the upcoming Holiday Catalog(sneak peek) Stylish Stripes Embossing Folders,
• I added Strawberry Slush In color Ribbon to the bottoms of each rectangle then cover the seam where the CS overlapped the ribbon with a strip of the pearls. I layered the rectangles to make the cake and used Dimensionals to pop the cake on the card front. 
• I punched a pile of flowers from a scrap of Whisper White CS using the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack,  using a foam mat and the stylus from the Simply Scored Board a cupped the flowers the added a small Pearl that I had colored with a sharpie. I added a pile of flowers on top of the cake and a small cluster on each layer of the cake,
• I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on a scrap of Whisper White CS with Strawberry Slush Ink I cut it out with a Bitty Banners Framelit. I popped it with Dimensionals at the base of the cake.

I think if I remake this card I will make the cake slightly smaller.

CASEing Pinterest punch art

Here is a link to my Pinterest punch art pin.

• The card base is Real Red CS layered with Pacific Point CS.
• I ran a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White CS through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch an opening in the CS.
• I made the punch art following the directions I found on Pinterest changing the color from baby colors to:
• Giraffe- So Saffron and Baked Brown Sugar.
• Lion- Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.
• Elephant- Smoky Slate and Basic Gray. I also used the Elegant Butterfly Punch for the ears. 
• I added the punch art pieces peeking through the opening in the CS and layered it onto the card base.
• In a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners inking the stamp with Real Red and Pacific Point markers. I cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits and used Dimensionals to pop it up on the card front.

I'm still trying to catch up on filling my card rack.

St. Patrick's Day Card.

So I made my St Patrick's Day card for this year.

• The card base is Gumball Green then Whisper White that was sprayed with Shimmer Paint Spray then a piece of DSP from Be of Good Cheer (yes the Christmas DSP).
• I used the Oval Framelit to cut anther piece of Whisper White sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint Spray and used it to put my Ribbon Shamrock on.
• Here is the link to instructions for the Shamrock , I found them on Pinterest. I added a Facets Button with Backers Twine tied through the holes to the center of the Shamrock.
• The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes cut with the Bitty Banner Framelit.

So there you have it my St. Patrick's Day card. I hope you ae having a wonderful day with plenty of time to stamp, sadly for me I am off to work and then have meetings this evening so I am afraid there won't be any stamping for me.

Spiderman

My granddaughter was invited to a birthday party for a little boy she knows, this is one of the cards I made for her to choose from.

• The card base is Pacific Point CS.
• I ran a piece of Basic Black and a piece of Real Red through the Big Shot using two of the new Ovals Collection Framelits. 
• I ran the Real Red piece through the Big Shot in the Spider Web Embossing Folder. After it was embossed I dragged the Stazon pad over the raised design. I then layered it onto the Basic Black oval and added it to the card base.
• Using the Large Oval Punch I punched two ovals from Whisper White and Basic Black CS. With Paper Snips I cut both Whisper White ovals at the same time then layered them on the Basic Black ones and cut those adding them to the web when I was done.
• On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped the happy birthday from Itty Bitty Banners in Pacific Point ink then cut it with the Bitty Banners Framelit. I layered it on a scrap of Real Red and snipped the ends to match.

In the end she didn't choose this one to give him. My son says the the eyes need to be bigger so I may try again and use the Wide Oval Punch instead.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Itty Bitty Birthday Banners

This card features Tea for Two DSP from the spring catalog...

• The card base is Naturals White
• I cut banners of different lengths and widths out of the Tea for Two DSP and attached them to a strip of the same DSP then attached it to the card base.
• I ran a piece of Naturals White CS through the Big Shot in the Designer Frames Embossing folder then again with an Apothecary Accent Framelit. I sponged the edges with Lucky Limeade and then popped it up on the card.
• I ran a scrap of Chocolate Chip CD through the Big Shot in the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder and a scrap Calypso Coral CS through a crimper then punched them out with the cupcake punch. then added them to the card.
• I stamped the phrase from Itty Bitty Banners in Calypso Coral on Naturals White and cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banner Framelit and added it to the card.

Honeycomb Birthday

Honeycomb anyone?

I love embossing folders and I always end up buying each one that comes out, sadly this just didn't work as I had hoped it would. I'm just not liking this card.

• The card base is Whisper White, the front ran through the Big Shot with the new embossing folder Honeycomb.
• I embossed the DSP Sycamore Street with the Honeycomb folder then cut the honeycombs out and added them to the centers of the honeycomb base.
• I stamped the phrase from Itty Bitty Banner in Island Indigo onto Whisper White and cut it with the framelit.  I layered it onto a larger banner in Pool Party and layered that onto Tangerine Tango.

Definitely not my favorite, but I'll keep trying until I make a card I like with it!

Llama Fall-idays Christmas Blog Hop

My first card is a semi-CASE of a card from the Holiday Catalog(see page 7)

• The card base is Whisper White with a front of Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations Card Stock  that was run though the Big Shot in the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder and then lightly sanded.
• On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the the oval from Joyous Celebrations in Cherry Cobbler, then punched it out with the Wide Oval punch. I stamped the mistletoe from the same set at the top of the oval in Gumball Green and added the smallest of the Pearls to it. On another scrap of Whisper White I stamped the bow with Cherry Cobbler and and hand cut and popped over the mistletoe and then popped the oval up with Dimensionals in the center of the card front.
• The phrase was stamped in Gumball Green on Whisper White and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelite. I curled the ends with a Bone Folder and added it to the card.

My second card uses Winter Memories.

• The card base is Real Red with a front of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot in the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.
• I stamped the image with Stazon onto Watercolor paper and colored it with Ink and an Aqua Painter. I layered it onto a piece of Real Red and layered it onto the card front.
