Celebrate

The ladies group at my church is celebrating their 173rd year. We are having a dinner to celebrate, I made 144 invitations (I forgot to photograph them) for the dinner and I was asked to make a center for a table. The beehive is the symbol of the group.

After stamping turn the vellum over to stylus emboss the flower center. Color the flower in the stained glass method.

Envelope Punch Board File Folder Birthday Card

I am loving the new Envelope Punch Board. For Club this month we made File Folder Cards. This is the card that I designed for club.

This is the card that we ended up with.

• The card base is Coastal Cabana CS. The sentiment on the tab is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp in Melon Mambo.
• Melon Mambo CS was run through the Big Shot and cut with the largest of the Apothecary Accents Framelit.
• On a piece of Whisper White CS we stamped Birthday Cake, colors are Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight it was ran through the Big Shot and cut with another Apothecary Accent Framelit, we rounded the square corners with the corner rounder. We layered it onto the Melon Mambo piece and added it to the card front. Rveryone was able to choose the color of Candy Dots to embellish their card with.
• On a scrap of Whisper White CS they had a choice of stamping Wish Big from A Dozen Thoughts or the Happy Birthday from Banner Greetings. We flagged the ends and tucked it behind the image.

We had a lot of fun making these cards!

Birthday Cake

Still making birthday cards this one uses a "single" stamp set.

• The card base is Coastal Cabana CS.
• I used Melon Mambo, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry Markers to color the stamp, I then stamped it on a piece of Whisper White CS. I used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut it out as well as cutting a piece of Melon Mambo CS a size larger. I sponged Bermuda Bay around the edges of the Whisper White CS before layering it onto the Melon Mambo and adding it to the base.
• On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped the phrase from A Dozen Thoughts with Bermuda Bay Ink. I used a Apothecary Accents Framelit to cut it out using the magnetic base it was easy to move the framelit  to make it smaller so that it would fit inside one that was cut from Melon Mambo. I sponged the edges of the Whisper White with Coastal Cabana Ink.

One more card to add to my rack.

I thought I'd share how I store my Bakers Twine.

I don't like the bend that the cardboard leaves in the Bakers Twine so I save the empty spools from work and wrap the twine around them. I punch a circle from matching CS and adhere it to the ends. These fir over a peg on my peg board. I have been able to do all of my Bakers Twine as well as giving them to my customers so that they can do theirs.

The Stampin' Llamas are Hopping Again!

Welcome to our blog hop, we are small in numbers this time but I am sure there has been things you have pinned for inspiration.  You might have hopped over from Buffy's Blog and if you did I hope you enjoyed her blog as much as I do.

For our hop I decided to use the same floral stamp set on all of my cards, I decided on Secret Garden. So here are the cards I came up with.

For my first card I used Red, White and Black.

• The card base is Whisper White CS, layered with Basic Black CS, then Real Red CS.
• On a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White CS I stamped the same flower over and over with Stazon. I started at the middle of the bottom and masked the flower as I stamped.
• The sentiment is from Express Yourself, I stamped it with Real Red.

Card number #2 uses Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede

,

• The card base is Baked Brown Sugar CS layered with Rose Red CS then Crumb Cake DSP,
• On a piece of Very Vanilla CS I stamped three of the flowers from Secret Garden. I started with the largest flower and stamped it in the lower right corner using Baked Brown Sugar. Next I took the second largest flower and stamped it overlapping both sides of the large flower using Rose Red. On the other side of the second flower I stamped the lily, again overlapping using Strawberry Slush.
• The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake stamped with Soft Suede, I layered it onto Rose Red CS and then onto Soft Suede CS. I then added it onto the card.

My last card uses Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Primrose Petals and Crushed Curry.

• The card base is Very Vanilla CS layered with a piece of Rose Red CS that I ran through the Big Shot using the Stripes Embossing Folder.
• I stamped the flowers on a piece of Watercolor paper using Stazon.
• I colored the flowers using Rose Red and Crushed Curry on the largest flower, then Primrose Petals and Chocolate Chip and the next largest flower and the lily I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral ink. I used an Aqua Painter to color them.
• I layered it onto a piece of Chocolate Chip CS.
• I punched a strip of Very Vanilla CS with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch and attached it to the bottom of the layered image.
• On a scrap of Rose Red CS I stamped the sentiment from Blooming with Kindness with Versamark and then heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I ran it through the Big Shot and cut it out with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelit. I popped the sentiment up with Dimensionals.

Faux Leather Simply Sketched

I like doing the faux leather technique, it is a fun look. If you would like to see some of the cards I have done in the past, here is a link.

• The card base is Crumb Cake CS. 
• I layered Pear Pizzaz CS and then Natural Composition Specialty DSP then wrapped Linen thread around it. I layered this onto the card base.
• I cut tan fun foam with the Apothecary Accents Framelit,  I heated it with my heat tool until it began to shrink then pressed the stamp (inked with Soft Suede) into it.
• I layered it onto a Pear Pizzazz piece cut with the same Framelit(fun foam does noticeable shrink) and added it to the card.
• On a scrap of Crumb Cake CS I stamped a phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Pear Pizzazz ink. I cut it out with a Framelit from the same set I used to cut the image. I sponged it with Crumb Cake ink and popped it up with Dimentionals on the card front.

Simply Sketched (sneak peek)

Simply Sketched is a Hostess set in the upcoming catalog. I loved it so much that I didn't want to wait and earn it so I paid for it ;). So here is a card with one of its images.

• The card base is Very Vanilla with a front of Soft Suede.
• I ran a piece of returning Pear Pizzazz through the Big Shot in the Flower Garden Embossing Folder. I layered it onto the Soft Suede front.
• I stamped the image onto Watercolor paper with Stazon and painted the image with ink and an Aqua Painter. I cut it out with the Ovals Collection Framelits. I layered it onto an oval of Baked Brown Sugar(new in color). I attached it to the card.
• I stamped a phrase from the set onto a scrap of Very Vanilla in Soft Suede and cut it using a Apothecary Accents Framelits. I sponged Soft Suede on the edges then popped it up on the card with Dimensionals.

I can't wait until the the new catalog official launch date!

Itty Bitty Birthday Banners

This card features Tea for Two DSP from the spring catalog...

• The card base is Naturals White
• I cut banners of different lengths and widths out of the Tea for Two DSP and attached them to a strip of the same DSP then attached it to the card base.
• I ran a piece of Naturals White CS through the Big Shot in the Designer Frames Embossing folder then again with an Apothecary Accent Framelit. I sponged the edges with Lucky Limeade and then popped it up on the card.
• I ran a scrap of Chocolate Chip CD through the Big Shot in the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder and a scrap Calypso Coral CS through a crimper then punched them out with the cupcake punch. then added them to the card.
• I stamped the phrase from Itty Bitty Banners in Calypso Coral on Naturals White and cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banner Framelit and added it to the card.

Seasonal Sayings

• Card base is Cherry Cobbler the front of the card was ran through the Big Shot with the Petals-a-Plenty folder. I used the new Stampin' Dazzle Marker in gold to dot the centers of the flowers it is really pretty in real life.
• I stamped the phrase from Seasonal Sayings in Versamark on Very Vanilla CS and heat embossed it with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I cut it out with the Apothecary Accents Framelit and sponged the edges with Lucky Limeade Ink.
• I cut a piece of Candlelight Christmas DSP with another Framelit from the same set. I added it to the base and the popped the phrase up with Dimensionals.

Can You Name This Stamp Set?

Here is a card from my upcoming Card Buffet- I always have two cards that are retired stamps and paper.

Does anyone know the name of this set? I bought the set at a yard sale for $4, sadly it wasn't labeled.

October Club Cards

So I started a new job this week thus the lack of posts. I'll do better next week.
This month for club we did the Shaving Cream Technique, these are the cards we made, a halloween and a Thanksgiving.  The Technique is as follows.

Shaving Cream

Fill your container with shaving cream.   Use a wooden stick to smooth it out a bit.

Add several drops of each of your re-inker colors to your shaving cream.

Mix shaving cream and re-inker in a swirling motion.

Continue to mix until you like the design/swirls you see

Press your cardstock into the shaving cream. Make sure the card front is completely coated.

Pull cardstock out of the shaving cream.

Lay another piece of cardstock on top of the one covered in shaving cream. Press together, then pull apart. giving you two shaving cream coated pieces of cardstock.   This will give you two shaving cream coated pieces of cardstock.

Take a paper towel and wipe away the shaving cream in a swirling motion.

Let dry.

Finish your card. Either layer an image on top or stamp directly onto the background.

• The card bases are More Mustard.
• The DSP used to make the flags is from Howlstooth & Scaringboone.
• I used More Mustard, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze reinkers for my swirls in my technique.
• For the Halloween card the Frightening Feline was stamped with Versamark onto the swirled glossy paper and heat embossed with black. the image was cut with the Window Frame Framelit on layered onto Basic Black CS cut the next size up. The eyes don't show well in the photo but they are rhinestone colored green.
• The Thanksgiving card has a phrase from Seasonal Sayings stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso. It was cut with the Apothecary Accent Framelit and layered onto Early Espresso CS.

Masking French Foliage

I hope you enjoyed our blog hop! We had fun doing it.  I was playing around the other day with Masking these are the cards I made.

• The card bases are Naturals White. I used a large torn post it note to mask the base.
• On the top card I sponged Perfect Plum on the lower card Perfect Plum and Daffodil Delight.
• The leaf from French Foliage was stamped with Elegant Eggplant. Om the lower card a leaf was stamped on a scrap of CS then cut out after it was cut out it was pressed into Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I popped it up with Dimensionals.
• The phrase from the From My Heart set and was stamped on a scrap of Naturals White with Elegant Eggplant, it was the cut out with a Apothecary Accents Framelit. I sponged the edges with Elegant Eggplant Ink then popped it up with Dimensionals.

Hopping again- Fall-i-days Thanksgiving Blog Hop

Yes we are hopping again, last month we covered Fall and Halloween and this month we are still covering Fall as well as Thanksgiving. If at anytime you come to a broken like you can find us all here.  Here are the cards I made for this hop.

• The card base is Naturals White, I thought the colorful flecks worked with our theme.
• I stamped the truck from Countryside with Stazon onto Watercolor paper. I colored it with Ink and an Aqua Painter. 
• I layered it onto to colors I pulled from the colored image, Gumball Green, Cajun Craze and So Saffron.

Next another triple layered card..

• Cutting directions can be found here.
• The CS is Very Vanilla and Cajun Craze.
• I stamped images from Countryside on my layers in Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Soft Suede.
• The water colored image is from Harvest Blessing stamped with Stazon and colored with Ink ans an Aqua Painter.
• It is cut with the Apothecary Accent Framelit layered onto Cajun Craze CS cut with the Labels Framelit.

And the last one uses the technique that we will be doing this month in club (Sorry for the crooked picture).

• The base on this card is Naturals White. 
• The phrase from Pursuit of Happiness was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in Early Espresso.
• The back ground paper for the image is Glossy White that has the Shaving Cream Technique done in Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Tangerine Tango. The image from Harvest Blessing was stamped onto it with Versamark and heat embossed in Early Espresso. The image was cut with the Labels Collection Framelit and layered onto Cajun Craze CS cut the next size larger.
