Country Morning

Here is another card using the Country Morning stamp set, it is a Hostess level one set. I used stazon to stamp the image on Watercolor paper and then colored it with an Aqua Painter and Ink, after coloring I distressed the edges. I stamped the bottles and flowers on a separate piece of watercolor paper, colored, cut out and used Dimensionals to pop it up in the corner. The Designer Series paper is To The Nines and is one of my favorite sets, the paper is heavier weight and textured. The DSP is mounted on a piece of Taken with Teal, the card base is Sahara Sand sponged with Chocolate Chip ink.

Spring Song

Monday I was sitting in the car in a parking lot, waiting and watching the cute fat little birds( I really like the fat small birds, not so much the leaner looking types) that were nesting in the sign of the building I was outside of. I tried to mimic their coloring when I did this bird, but I just wasn't able to.

I like both birds in the stamp set Spring Song, and since I love to watercolor you will see more of them. The image was stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and colored with ink and an Aqua Painter.

The card base is Whisper White and the matting around the picture is Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke CS the designer paper is from Bella Bleu.

Country Morning/flowers and chick

This card uses Summer Sun as the base. I ran the lower corner of the card face through the crimper and folded it back and used a Vanilla Jumbo Brad to hold it back. The flower image is stamped with Stazon on Watercolor paper and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons. The image is mounted on Taken with Teal.
For the inside of the card I added a 4"x 5 1/4"piece of So Saffron to the inside card back. I stamped the little chick on the lower corner so that it shows when the card is closed. Because I find it hard to remember not to let my writing show on cards that let any of the inside show, I used a stamp from the Sprinkles set to add a stop writing guide ;).
So even though I can't tell you what we did yesterday at Stampin' UP!, it was very interesting! Our focus group was made up of 6 demonstrators, we met with 3 employees of Stampin' UP!. We were told we could not talk about what we discussed in our group, it was fun to try products and give our opinions and watched as they made pages of notes and asked us question after question. So some of what we talked about would not happen until 2011 catalog (2010 in already at the headquarters for the second proof reading and no we did not get a sneak peek). Some of what we talked about may show up sooner then that, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Off Today

Today I am going to the Stampin' UP! headquarters to be a part of a focus group. They are looking for feed back on possible products. Sad thing we sign a non-disclosure so I can't tell anyone what I see or what we talk about... I think it will be fun anyway. So tomorrow I will post a card, but today I have got to run:).

Well Scripted- Happy Birthday

I love the Cottage Wall designer paper and this is an easy way to show off the small print sides ;).

The card base is Orchid Opulence with a front of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet folder.

With markers I colored the happy with Old Olive and birthday with Rich Razzleberry.

The bags are a CASE (copy and share everything)of a CASE of a CASE, it is one of those ideas that just seems to take off. I used the 1 1/4" square punch on the designer paper and 1 3/8" square punch on coordinating Card Stock. The handles are made with the linen thread, I taped a loop to the back of the square, added a bit of tissue paper, added a second loop, popped it with Dimensionals.

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight!

I have scraps of the Bella Bleu designer paper left over from a class last summer, I decided to see what I could come up with to use them. I sponged the edges of the designer paper with Not Quite Navy ink and added them to a NQN card base. The ribbon is Very Vanilla with Vanilla Hodge Podge framing the Best Wishes from Oval All.

CASEing Dawn Griffith- Dawns Stamping Thoughts

So Dawn posted a card on her blog a week ago that was the inspiration for this card. I wanted my card to be the finished size of 5 1/5" x 4 1/4". The first picture is the inside of the card with a tear off book mark, I'm thinking it needs a hole punched and a ribbon at the top. The second picture is the front of the card.
I used Taken with Teal textured card stock for my card base, I cut it at 5 1/2" x 10 1/2", I scored it at 4 1/4" and then using the Cutter Kit I cut the the tear lines for the book mark.
Punches I used are: Scallop Trim Corner, Word Window, Modern Label
Stamp Sets: Oval All, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Sizzlits: Beautiful Wings
Paper: Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Basic Black, Sweet Pea Designer Paper

Of the Earth- Thank-you

It is funny how things you see stay in your mind, I saw a card that colored the image I used here pretty much the way I did here, it was also stamped over a phrase, I thought I had seen the card last week, and I wanted to give credit to my inspiration, I thought I had seen the card on Diana Gibbs blog but I couldn't find it. After researching I found the card. I was right it was Diana's card, she posted it in January, that is why I couldn't find it, I wasn't going back far enough!
My card is one of the card we will be making in my folds class on March 30, so if you want to come make it e-mail me and let me know.
The card base is So Saffron. On Whisper White I stamped the gratitude from Define Your Life with Close to Cocoa, I used the butterfly image from Of the Earth, coloring it with markers and stamping it over the definition. I used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive to mat the image.
The Thank you is from Thank you Kindly, I used the Large Oval punch as well as the Oval die and the Big Shot, the butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings embosslit.

Crazy for Cupcakes

This card uses both the Scallop Trim Corner and Scallop Trim Edge Punch(remember this month is the last month you will be able to get the scallop trim edge punch free with your order of $50). The card base is Whisper White, I cut off 1/2" of the front and used the Scallop Trim Edge punch, I also used the same punch on a strip of Pretty in Pink and taped it behind the front. On the inside back I put a 1" strip of designer paper from the Sweet Pea Collection.

I stamped the image on Whisper White and colored it with the Stamp and Write markers, I used Dazzling Diamond Glitter on the frosting and Crystal Effects on the cherries to make them shine. I punched opposite corners with the Scallop Trim Corner punch. I matted it on Pretty in Pink that I had used the same corner punch on opposite corners. The phrase is stamped in Pretty in Pink.

On Your Birthday

I made this card a few weeks ago and posted it on Stamping Up's Demonstrator only site and forgot that I hadn't posted it on my blog. I ready for Spring to come and that is the way a lot of my cards are going. This cards flower is made the same way as the one February 6th post, only I used the Scallop Circle punch. The leaves are made with the sizzlet Little Leaves. I used the scallop edge punch on a strip of Old Olive CS, I ran the Cameo Coral strip through the big shot with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. The Whisper White card front was ran through with the Perfect Polka Dot folder. I ran a scrap of Whisper White and a scrap of Old Olive through with the Lots of Tags sizzlet, cut them in half and layered them off center on top of each other. The card base is Cameo Coral.
