Watercooler Challenge 19

Welcome to challenge #19  Bev submitted this photo as our challenge.

Beautiful! But it had me stumped for a bit. Here is what I finally decided to go with.

I ran* Crushed Curry, Rose Red & Elegant Eggplant down a damp piece of Watercolor Paper then ran Night of Navy down over it. I also drop those same colors onto scraps of watercolor paper for the punched flower.  I used the Hello You Thinlits to cut the thanks out the Whisper White front, I stamped the words from Crazy About you then ran it through the Big Shot first with Decorative Dots Embossing Folder to deboss it then again in the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder to emboss it.

* For the background watercolor I lightly spritzed the watercolor paper with water and propped it up at a slight angle. Next I dripped a couple of drops of re-inker in each colors ink pad lid. I used an Aqua Painter to pick up the ink so that the tip was deeply colored, I squeezed plenty of water into the tip and colored about 1/2" at the top of the paper letting it run down the paper(spritzing with more water as needed to help it run). From left to right I roughly colored thirds of the paper in Crushed Curry, Rose Red & Elegant Eggplant. The last step was Night of Navy that I ran across the top in a narrow line letting it run down over the previous colors.

Chalkboard Big Day

For club last week we worked with the Chalkboard Paper and the Chalk Inks from the Occasions Catalog. The first card is the card we did in club and the second one is the one my 10 year old granddaughter made while I was teaching club.

Moon Lake- Watercooler Challenge

For the Watercooler Challenge instead of watercoloring I tried Blendabilities this time!

I did I light wash of Soft Sky for the back ground, the rest was colored with Blendabilities.

Stained Glass Window Butterfly

For the butterfly I glued the Framelit Piece to Vellum CS with Multipurpose Glue than cut the vellum to the butterflies edge.  I colored the back of the Butterfly with the blendabilities.

C.A.S.E.ing Pinterest

Our challenge this time is CASEing Pinterest.
Usually I use Pinterest as a jumping off point, however this card was perfect and I really did not change it very much. You can see the card I CASEd here. And here is my CASE.

Blessed Easter

I love tulips so I had to buy Blessed Easter.

I wasn't thrilled with the idea of having the phrase with the image so I used an exacto knife and separated them. I added the words on a separate block. Now I can use the image on any type of card.

I CASEd a card from our last Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop(our next one is this coming Thursday!) the card I CASEd was the last one Gail post here.

• Stamps: World Map, Chalk Talk
• Paper: Very Vanilla CS, Night of Navy CS, Brushed Gold
• Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede
• Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder. Big Shot, Chalk Talk Framelit, Wide Oval Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelit

Secret Garden

• The card base is Pear Pizzazz with the front of the card embossed with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.
• I stamped the flowers from Secret Garden was stamped on Naturals White CS with Versamark and Heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I used a Sponge Dauber to sponge Crushed Curry Ink on the centers of the flowers then worked out from the centers with Daffodil Delight Ink. I ran them through the Big Shot with the Secret Garden Framelits.
•  On a piece of Naturals White CS I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Versamark and heat embossed it with Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder. I cut it with a Circle Collection Framelit and layered it on a circle of Daffodil Delight CS. I layered it on a Tea Lace Paper Doily and then layered it on the card base.
• I adhered two of the flowers and a leaf cut from Pear Pizzazz CS to the card base, I added Dimensionals to the back of the third flower and popped it up over the two flowers on the base. 

Simply Sketched

I love poppies!

• The card base is Whisper White CS, layered with Calypso Coral CS then Pear Pizzazz CS. I rounded the corners on all the layers.
• I colored the stamp of the poppy from Simply Sketched with markers and then stamped it on a piece of Whisper White CS.
• I colored the phrase from the same set with markers and stamped it on a scrap of Whisper White CS and cut it out with a Labels Framelit.  I sponged the edges with Calypso Coral Ink then added Dimensionals to pop it up on the card base.

Monstermaniacs

Here is one of the cards that can be made at Saturday's Card Buffet.

• The card base is Whisper White.
• Run a 4" x 5 1/4" Strawberry Slush CS through the Big Shot cutting it with a Deco Label Framelit. 
• On a strip of Vellum CS stamp the sentiment from Sassy Salutations in Bermuda Bay. Wrap it around the Strawberry Slush piece and adhere to the card base.
• Stamp the monster on a piece of Watercolor Paper with Stazon. Color it with Markers (colors used Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride) Run the image through the Big Shot cutting it with the smallest Deco Label Punch. Add Dimensionals to the back of image and add it to the card base.

Love & Sympathy

Were you wondering if I'd ever post?
This card uses the new Circle Card Thinlits Die. I have always liked flip/swing cards but often found it difficult to line everything up just right. With the new Thinlits Dies it is easy! This card was done with the Faux Watercoloring Technique using the Love & Sympathy stamp set.

Mostly closed

Open

• The card is Marina Mist CS. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Circle Card Thinlits Die, it does the hard part by cutting and scoring all at once.
• On Watercolor Paper I stamped the iris from Love & Sympathy using the Faux Watercolor Technique(instructions in this post), and cut it out with a Circle Framelit. I attached it to the card so that when closed it is on the front.
• The sentiment is from Create a Cupcake and is stamped on Very Vanilla CS with Old Olive ink than punched with the Word Window Punch. I layered it on Old Olive CS punched with the Modern Label Punch. I added the smallest of the Pearl Jewels on both ends and added it to the card.
• I stamped an additional sentiment from Create a Cupcake on Very Vanilla CS again in Old Olive. I cut it with a Circle framelit and added it to the opposite side of the card.
• I added one each of the three small sizes of Pearls to the top curve of the card.

These flip/swing cards are so fast and easy to make!

Delightful Dozen

Another Birthday Card!

• The card base is Very Vanilla CS layered with 5 3/8" x 4 1/4" Real Red CS Layered again with a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Modern Melody DSP.
• I made two banners from two more pieces of Modern Melody DSP layering one on Basic Black CS and one on Real Red CS.
• I made mini banners from Basic Black and Very Vanilla CS using the Bitty Banners Framelits.
• I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Real Red onto Very Vanilla CS I cut it out with the Circle Framelits. I cut the next larger Circle from Basic Black CS.

I like how this card turned out!

Rev Up the Fun!

• The card base is Whisper White CS.
• I ran a 4" x 3 1/4" Baked Brown Sugar CS through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Embossing Folder I attached it to a 4" x 3" piece of Whisper White over lapping them so that the finished size was 4" x 5 1/4" Front for the card base.
• I inked up the car from Rev Up the Fun with Real Red and the colored the wheels with the Black Marker. I used a Q-tip to remove the red from the hub caps and colored them Smoky Slate, I then stamped it on the White Panel. I inked up the phrase with Pacific Point and stamped it under the car.
• I stamped the banner from Hearts a Flutter once in Real Red, twice in Pacific Point stamping the on Whisper White CS and cutting them with the Hearts a Flutter Framelit. I made narrow banner from Daffodil Delight CS. I stamped the tread mark twice on a strip of Whisper White and attached the banners to it.
• I punched an opening in the Baked Brown Sugar CS then layer it over the card base and using Real Red Ink I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I the added Dimensional to the back of the Front and added it to the base.

I thought that the card turned out to be a fun Boy/Man Birthday card.
