The Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

We are hopping again!

As usual, our Blog Hop runs in a circular fashion.  No matter where in the list of participants you begin, you'll wind up in the exact same place again if you keep going to the "next" blog.  It works the same way whether you do the usual forward movement through the blog posts or if you work your way through in reverse order.

If you hopped here from Jean's blog welcome! Jean is an amazing person!

I sort of got hooked on flowers for this hop, so wanting it to warm up! Yesterdays snow is mostly melted.
First up, a Shaker Card-
Stamps: Too Kind
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS & Watercolor Paper
Ink: Strawberry Slush and Craft White
Misc: Shaker Frames, Butterfly Framelits, seed beads

Stamps: Indescribable Gift & Lots of Thanks
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black & Vellum CS
Ink: Versa mark & Memento Tuxedo Black & Pink Pirouette & Pear Pizzazz Markers
Misc: White Embossing Powder

Last one might be a little odd...

Paper: Cherry Cobbler
Misc: Owl Builder & Scallop Punch & Crystal Effects, Blush remnants and Rubbing alcohol

I placed all the bits and pieces from several blush containers in an empty embellishment, crushed it and added alcohol to make a paste. Let it dry and it is ready to use. For the lid I made a flower and brushed crystal effects on the petals to make it hold up when handled.

I hope you found some inspiration here, leave me a word and let me know you stopped by. Hope on over to Christine's Blog for more inspiration.

The Wacky Watercooler March Madness Blog Hop!

We are hopping again and this time it is March Madness!  Basketball? Not always!! Just the madness this time of year brings, in some areas it is wishing for warmth and the end of snow, maybe it is just needing to slow down, the madness is different for everyone. My personal "madness" is spring clean up and those DYI projects that I am hoping with help as a selling appeal as we get our house ready to sell.

As usual, our Blog Hop runs in a circular fashion.  No matter where in the list of participants you begin, inevitably you'll wind up in the exact same place again if you keep going to the "next" blog.  It works the same way whether you conform to the usual forward movement through the blog posts or if you're a rebel and work your way through in reverse order.

If you hopped over from Linda's blog I am sure you found inspiration. If you are starting here, keep on hopping!

This time of year we are usually wishing for warmer winter, this year we are just wondering what happened to snow and worrying about the drought that will be hitting if we don't get a wet spring/summer. My trees are already blossoming almost a month early, I noticed a few gardens already planted as I was driving about town(gardens go in AFTER Mother's day!). So my first card is early spring.
Stamps: Sheltering Tree & Lots of Thanks
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz & Calypso Coral CS
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake & Rose Coral Chalk
Misc: Dimensionals

For Fancy Folds I went simple, a sheet of 12" x 5 1/2" CS scored at 2", 4", 8" & 10"  cut at a diagonal 3" down on each side up to the 4" or 8" fold line depending on the side.
Stamps: Lovely Amazing You
Paper: Soft Sky CS, Watercolor Paper & Painted Blooms DSP
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Rose Red, Lost Lagoon
Misc: Butterflies Thinlits, Tea Time Doilies, Itty Bitty & Bird Builder Punch, Glue Dots & Rhinestone Jewels

Stampin' UP! supplies Basic Black CS, Glue Sticks and Snail Runner.
My son recently returned from a church mission in Japan. He collects movie posters a standard movie poster (a one sheet) size is 27" x 40". He brought flyer size (7 1'8" x10 1/8")movie posters home that are in Japanese. We made a 27" x 40" collage of posters and then mounted 9 on Basic Black CS and mounted them on top of the collage.

Now it is time to hop on over to Jackie's, I'm sure you will find inspiration in her work.

Lots of Thanks

Remember to check out the retired page I'll be adding to it from time to time.

Don't you love Washi Tape?  What a simple way to add to a card.

  • The card base is Whisper White CS layered with Calypso Coral CS, then Basic Gray CS.
  • I cut a Piece of Whisper White CS 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Using the gray striped and the Calypso honeycomb Washi Tape from the This & That Collection I alternated the tape across the lower corner of the CS. Using Versamark I stamped a phrase from Lots of Thanks and then heat embossed it with Pewter Embossing Powder.
A simple card that was fast and easy and looks so much better in real life then in a photo.
