Nature Walk

This is a card I recently taught in a class and it wasn't until the middle of the class that I realized that I used a retired punch 8(.

• The card base is Lucky Limeade with the front of the card ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips embossing folder.
• Using markers I colored the stamp with Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade and stamped it onto Very Vanilla CS, the bee was stamped with Stazon and then colored with So Saffron. The CS was then ran through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder. The image was then layered onto Rich Razzleberry CS and then onto the front of the card.
• The phrase is from Delightful Dozen stamped with Rich Razzleberry onto Very Vanilla CS then punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch. It was layered onto a Designer Label(retired) punched piece of Rich Razzleberry and then layered onto a piece of Old Olive 1 3/8" circle this was added to the front of the image.

Happy St Patrick's Day card 2

This is the second card I made for my customer for St. Patrick's.

• Card base is Naturals White with the front of the card ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips embossing folder. The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wished and was stamped with Wild Wasabi onto the front of the card,
• The pot is made from Basic Black CS and the 1 3/4" Circle and the Word Window punches
• The gold is Brushed Gold CS punched with the Scallop Oval, Scallop Circle and hand held circle punches, the edges were sponged with Soft Suede.
• The rainbow is freehand with chalk

Pretty easy.

Happy St Patrick's Day card 1

St. Patrick's Day isn't a holiday I enjoy, in fact I had my youngest daughter induced on the 16th so I wouldn't have a St. Paddy's baby.  That being said, I had the need for two cards this year. I customer asked if I had two she could buy, I said yes and headed to the stamp room to make them before she came by and snapped the picture with my phone. The only stamp I had is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

• The card base is Naturals White with the front embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder using my Big Shot.
• I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Envelop Die, the reverse side of this DSP(Everyday Enchantment SAB) is Peach so I took a coordinating and cut the flap area about 1/2" longer then the flap and lined the inside.
• From all the different green scraps that I have I punched hearts and made 3 and 4 leaf clovers and spilled them out of the envelope.
• The phrase was stamped in Wild Wasabi onto the card front.
• I colored a few rhinestones with a green sharpie and added the to the centers of a few clover.
• The Good Luck is from Delightful Dozen and was stamped onto a scrap of Naturals White and punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch layered onto a Lucky Limeade CS circle 1 3/8"

My customer was happy with the card.  I'll post the second card I made her in the near future.

Word Play- Graduation

Without a Graduation specific stamp set I had to look at the sets that we have and decide what would work for a Graduation themed card. I chose a stamp from "Word Play" but there are others that would work as well. How about using, It takes Courage to grow up and become who you Really are. From "Hope Happens" or Life is uncharted territory. It reveals its story one moment at a time. From "Uncharted Territory" or from the new Summer Mini how about using the Way to go Congrats Well Done stamp from "Happy Greetings" Is there any others that you can think of? If so leave me a comment and let me know what they are OK?


Here is the card recipe:

• The card base is Whisper White with a front of Night of Navy that I ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips folder.
• I stamped the phrase in Bashful Blue and then used the Night of Navy marker to color some of the words darker (the 2 blues are our school colors). On a piece of Whisper White that I cut to fit just inside the embossed area.

• The hat is a 1 ¼" square of Night of Navy with a standard hole punch for the button. I made a simple tassel with White crochet thread.



The card really was simple and fast.

Water Cooler Swaps part 3

Card #1 was made by Marsha, another one of my Water Cooler friends it has been so fun getting to know her.  She used  two Stamp Sets: For All You Do and a Sale-a-bration set  So Happy For You

The Card stocks and DSP she used is: Very Vanilla; Old Olive; Brights DSP Old Olive Stripe, Tangerine Tango Stripe; Daffodil Delight; Tangerine Tango; Neutrals Very Vanilla DSP (dot side). She uses  Old Olive; Pumpkin Pie ink.  Boho Blossoms Punch; Eyelet Border Punch; Modern Label Punch; Dimensionals; Square Lattice Embossing Folder were also used to make the card.

Card #2 was made by Jackie another lady that I have been getting to know though our Stampin' Connection Water Cooler Group.  She used the following: Paper: cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, certainly celery, pretty in pink, red glimmer paper, patterns love DSP, and a very small piece chocolate chip for cherry; The Ink: chocolate chip The Stamp set: Curly Cute (mine is coming Monday, saw the cardm had to get it); she also used a paper crimper, cupcake punch, 2 3/8 scallop circle punch, big shot, tulip embossing folder, perfect polka dots embossing folder, dimensionals.

Card #3 was made by Patti, Patti has added so much fun to our discussions her sense of humor keeps us laughing. She used Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla Card stock with the Finial Press embossing folder and the Ticket Corner punch, Cherry Cobbler seam binding,  and the stamp sets Charmed and Totally Tess (words) and one of the tiny Pearl Jewels.

Card #4 was from Darrah, Darrah is another fellow demo that has been answering my questions from the time I first started with Stampin' UP!.  Darrah used the Stamp sets: Fresh Cuts and Easter Blossoms (mini); Inks: Old Olive and River Rock (the dirt on the pot);  CS: Old Olive, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie; Punches: 2 1/2" Circle, Word Window (fold cs in half to get a longer window) and Scallop oval; also used is
Sticky strip and 5/8 organza ribbon.

One of the best things I have found as a demo is the friendships as well as the willingness that so many of the demos to share their ideas and knowledge, these ladies and the others that are a part of our Water Cooler group have added so much humor and fun to my days.  I am often laughing at what they write, my kids have even started asking whats going on with your friend at the Water Cooler. . . who would've thunk it?

So I realize my camera takes rotton pictures, sorry. Good news is I will be getting a new one. . .bad news not until the end of April so until then I will keep posting, just know many of the cards look much better in real life. ;)

22 days of Sale-a-brations left!

This card uses two different things from the Sale-a-brations catalog, the Punch Bunch stamp set and the Ice Cream Parlor DSP.

This baby card is fast and easy to make!

• The base of the card is 4 1/4" x 11" Whisper White folded in half with a 3"x4" piece of DSP attached to the lower half of the card, the front was then ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips folder.
• I knotted a piece of Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon around the card where the upper edge of the DSP is.
• The tag from Punch Bunch was stamped on Whisper White with Peach Parfait and punched with the small Tag punch layered on the larger tag punched from Peach Parfait CS. I used a safety pin from Vintage Trinkets to attach the tag to the knot in the ribbon.

So have fun with your Sale-a-bration items and remember that it all goes away at the end of the month so if you want any of the sets let me know.

Afterthoughts

I love the Level 1 Hostess set Afterthoughts, they speak my thoughts. ;-) 

• The card base is Whisper White with a Basic Black layer that is 5 3/16" x 4 1/8" and a Whisper White layer that is 4" x 5 1/8" ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips folder.
• The "Thanks I love being spoiled" is stamped directly on the front with Stazon.
• The DSP is Real Red and Basic Black punched with the 1 1/4" Square punch opposite corners punched with the corner rounder. Each DSP square is layered onto the opposite color of CS punched with the 1 3/8" Square punch (opposite corners punched as well)  These were added to the card front with a squared corner of each square pointing in.
• The ribbon is the Organza Ribbon, I dyed it Read Red with Re inkers and Rubbing Alcohol. the ribbon is a faux bow, with the Black Glimmer brad making the "knot" of the bow.

This card is easy to make and turned out so pretty in Real Life.  Have a great week end and try to find time to stamp something.

Easter Blossoms

Easter Blossoms is in the Occasions Mini, the silhouette of the girl caught my interest right away and it was one of the first ones I ordered.  This card is only three colors Very Vanilla, Regal Rose and Basic Gray. 

• The card base is Basic Gray with a front of Regal Rose ran through the Big Shot with a the Framed Tulips folder.
• I stamped the girl in Basic Gray onto Very Vanilla, layered it onto Regal Rose and again onto Basic Gray.
• On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the blossoms in Regal Rose then layer it onto Basic Gray. I layered it onto the card front and then added the matted image on top of it.
• I inked up the egg stamp with Regal Rose and stamped it off once before stamping it on Very Vanilla, The Happy Easter is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamp in Basic Gray. This was punched with the 1 1/4" circle and layered onto a Regal Rose 1 3/8" circle .  A piece of Basic Gray was punched with the Modern Label punch, the circle was added to the center of it and Pearls were added to each side of the label. this was centered below the main image with the top of the circle over lapping the image.

So there you have it. This card may have the most layers of any card I have made, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

2011 Birthday Bash Card Buffet--January 1st & 5th

January 1st 10 am to 3 pm -January 5th 7 pm to 9:30 pm

Come and make all your birthday cards for the whole year! I will have masculine, feminine, children, and just plain fun birthday cards of all varieties for you to choose from. Bring your calendar and make a card for everyone on your list!

We will be using NEW stamps and products from the Spring Mini Catalogs well as sets from the IBC, as well as the Big Shot, and lots of other great tools and accessories!

What party would be complete without cupcakes and PRESENTS??? Collect tickets all day and turn them in for extra chances to win door prizes. Get a ticket for registering by December 22nd--get two more if you register with a "new to stamping" friend! Get a ticket when you finish your first five cards, and one for every card you finish after that! Five tickets if you join one of my monthly stamp clubs, (new one starts in March). Cost for the entire Birthday Bash is just $12 for the first five cards ($17 with A SNAIL adhesive included) and $2 per card after that, for as many as you care to make! Remember to bring your own adhesive to class. Envelopes are included with each card.

The card above is made from items in the Mini coming out in January.  The stamp set is called "Take a Spin" and the mini even has the little spinner hands.  Yesterday I improved the card that we will make in the upcoming birthday class, it will still be close to this one.

• The card base is Tempting Turquoise with a front of Whisper White that was ran through the Big Shot with a new folder called "Framed Tulips"
• I colored the stamp itself before stamping on Whisper White, I added Spinner Hands from the mini and mounted it on a piece of Daffodil Delight
