Create a Cupcake!

Another card from last weeks Ribbon & Pearls class.

This card uses a retiring stamp, retiring paper, retiring tool and a retiring punch.

  • The card base is Confetti White(retiring) With a front of Pretty in Pink
  • I inked up the phrase from Create a Cupcake with Chocolate Chip and stamped it onto a scrap of Naturals White then ran it through the Big Shot with the smallest Label Framelit, I cut 2 more of the smallest Framelit out of Chocolate Chip, cut each in half in opposite directions and frames my phrase with them.
  • On a 3" square of Regal Rose I stamped Fine Flourish(retiring) with Versamark and stamped it on the CS and embossed it with Iridescent Ice. I punch it out with the 2 1/2" Circle punch.
  • I cut a strip of Chocolate Chip and a rectangle of Crumb Cake DSP from the Naturals Stack. I punched the strip with the Lace Ribbon Border punch (retiring) I threaded Regal Rose 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through the center holes and tied a knot 2/3s of the way down.
  • I used the Crimper(retiring) on a scrap of Chocolate Chip CS and punched it with the Cupcake punch I ran a scrap of Pretty in Pink through the Big Shot in the Elegant Lines embossing folder, then punched it with the Cupcake punch. The Cherry was punched from Real Red and Crystal Effects was added to make it shinny and rounded..
  • I used a Sharpies to color the Pearls.
From the photo I think you can see how it all went together, if you have any questions let me know.

Field Flowers

This card was the favorite of the ladies that came to my Ribbons and Pearls class today.
I CASEd Vicki's Card found here. The layout was a Splitcoaststampers challenge. It is hard to see but the image is completely covered with Dazzling Diamonds.

  • The card base is Naturals White with a front of Marina Mist that is layer with a piece of DSP from Beau Château.
  • I ran a 2 1/4"x 3 1/4" Marina Mist CS through the Big Shot in the Finial Press Embossing folder and layered it onto a piece of Not Quite Navy CS then it was layered onto the card front catty corner.
  • A second piece of DSP from Beau Château was layered onto a piece of Marina Mist CS, it was layered onto the card front.
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped Field Flower in Old Olive, Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy.
  • I cut a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets the same size as the Very Vanilla CS and burnished it onto the CS, after removing the covering I added Dazzling Diamonds to the adhesive. I then layered it onto a piece of Not Quite Navy CS, I wrapped a piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine around the image and then added it to the front going catty corner the opposite direction.
  • I threaded a small piece of the Bakers Twine through the hole in a flower button from the Bitty Buttons then added it onto a Marina Mist CS flower from the Itty Bitty punches  and added to the DSP band on the front of the card.
  • Four of the large Pearls from those in the main catalog were put in the corners of the front.
The image and all its sparkle was what the ladies in the class loved. I hope you like this card and if you haven't bought Multipurpose Adhesive sheets I hope you do and then give this card a try.

Masculine Birthday

I thought this would make a great birthday card for a man. . .

  • The card base is River Rock with a front of Early Espresso.
  • The DSP is a piece of 3 3/4"x5" Well Worn (my favorite DSP)
  • Using markers I colored(River Rock, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso) a stamp from Delightful Dozen and stamped it onto a piece of Confetti White. I cut it out the Label Framelit the sponged the edges with Early Espresso. I layered it onto a piece of Soft Suede, with Dimensionals, that was cut with the next larger Framelite.
So what do you think? A great man card?

Herringbone- All White

I have been playing with the Herringbone technique we did this month in club and I thought I would share with you over the next few days some of the results. Here is an all Whisper White Card.

This card was so pretty in real life (it was sold with in 30 minutes of completing.

  •  The card base is Whisper White with a front of Textured Whisper White CS.
  • I ran Whisper White CS through the Big Shot with different Embossing Folders and with Texturz™ Plates. I then cut them into strips 1/8" to 3/8" wide.
  •  The herringbone design was done by cutting a piece of Whisper White CS 3 3/4" x 5" and layering it with a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet cut the same size. I then filled the design in with the strips I had cut. I then popped it up with Dimensionals on the card front.
  • The Basic Black CS was sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint Spray and cut with the Label Framelit.
  • Best Wishes is from Petite Pairs and it was inked with Versamark stamped onto Whisper White CS and embossed with Black Embossing powder that had BlackFine Galaxy Glitter mixed in. When Embossed the word were sparkly black. I punched the words out with the Small Oval punch and then added to the Basic Black piece then centered on the card.
I hope that you like this card, herringbone is a fun design and a great way to use up scraps of DSP or even CS.

Smooches #2

I hope you stopped by our hop that we had over the week end, if not you might want to go to my previous post and check it out. There were some lovely projects.

Th retirement list came out yesterday and there are plenty of sets that will soon be gone, several that were on my wish list. Make sure you get the sets on your wish list before May 31st when they are gone forever.

Here is a card that I thought of using for the hop, we had discussed using Summer Smooches or retiring In Colors, I ended up using the retiring In Color cards and I posted one of my Smooches cards here . So now I thought I would share the second one.
  • The card base is Daffodil Delight with the front edge cut with an Edgelit. I added a piece of Summer Smooches DSP.
  • I cut a piece of Whisper White with a Label Framelit and cut a piece of Island Indigo with the next size up and layered them together.
  • Using scrap of CS in the colors from the DSP I made a vase and flowers from punches. The punches used were 1" circle(vase), Itty Bitty Punch pack(flower), Owl(centers) bird punch(leaves).
A simple card that feels like spring! Have a wonderful day and find yourself some time to stamp.

Smooches

Have you bought your Smooches?  April is the month to pre-order some fun products that will be in the catalog in June.
Here is a fun Herringbone card that we made this month in club using Summer Smooches DSP.

  • The card base is Whisper White.
  • The herringbone design was done by cutting a piece of Whisper White that was cut 4"x5 1/4" layered with a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets cut the same size. Strips of DSP were cut 1/8" to 1/2" wide.  After building the pattern the piece was added to the front.
  • The Curly Label punch was used to cut an opening in the front of the card.
  • The phrase from Happiest Birthday Wishes(a Hostess Set) was stamped on the inside of the card(Real Red) showing through to the front.
  • The cupcake from Itty Bitty Bits was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White and punched with the Itty Bitty punch and popped up with 1/4 of a Dimensional.
Starting Thursday night at 9 pm the Llama Blog Hop will be starting we are highlighting the Summer Smooches as well as the soon to retire In Colors. So make sure you come back for that.

Happy Easter!

I thought a Springtime card would be nice.  These remind me of the Cherry Blossoms that are in bloom now.

  • The card base is Whisper White with a front of Petty in Pink. An opening was cut with the Label Framelit in the front of the card base and cut the next lager size into the Pretty in Pink front.
  • With Versamark  En Francais was stamped  on the Pretty in Pink piece.
  • On the inside of the card the lager image of flowers from Bordering on Romance  was stamped  with Stazon and stamped it a second time onto a scrap of Whisper White. The image was colored with Ink and a Blender Pen.
  • Two flowers from the stamping on a scrap piece was cut out with snips. and adhered with Mini Glue Dots around the opening.
  • Mini Pearl Jewels were colored with a sharpie and added to the flowers on the front of the card.
I hope you like the card. Have a wonderful day.

Every Egg

Here is the last Easter card I made.
I had strips of Watercolor  paper left over from cutting paper for a class. . .here is what I ended up doing with them.

  • The card base is Whisper White( I know rare for me to use white with Watercolor paper but the DSP I was using had a white background) I cut the bottom off the front of the card with the Adorning Accents Edgelits die, then embossed it top and bottom with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders,
  • On the bottom of the inside of the card I added a strip of DSP from the Summer Smooches promotion. The design reminds me of eggs.
  • On a strip of Watercolor paper I ran the Every Egg wheel in Stazon across the strip. I colored the images with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter.
  • I layered the image onto a piece of Island Indigo and then onto two pieces of Daffodil Delight that had been punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.
I think this is my favorite of the Easter cards I made this year. Do you have a favorite?

Well it is snowing here and no longer looks and feels like spring. I need to go out on knock snow off the branches of the trees that are in bloom. Have a wonderful day!

Love & Sympathy

This was a fun card to make and but changing the sentiment it could me Mother's day or Birthday or no sentiment at all.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla(this is what I mostly use if I am using Watercolor paper) with a front(popped up with Dimensionals) of Very Vanilla that was ran through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
  • I cut a piece of Marina Mist with the Label Framelit and a piece of Watercolor paper with the next smaller Framelit.
  • I sprayed the Watercolor paper lightly with water, then with the image from Love and Sympathy, colored with markers I stamped it onto the paper and let it bleed, then I dried it and re-stamped the image over the first one.
  • I stamped the phrase in Not Quite Navy and stamped it on a scrap of Very Vanilla CS then cut it with a Label Framelit. I sponged the edges with Marina Mist and popped the phrase up with Dimensionals.
I really like this technique as an easy Watercolor.

A Wedding Card

I think this must be a CASE but I can not find the card if it is, I try to keep a file on my computer of cards that catch my eye, some because of color combos, some for there layouts and some to just plain copy. This card is not in that folder and I can'r find one with Goggle, I just don't think I came up with this on my own. Now with that disclaimer are you ready to see what the heck I am talking about?  Well here it is. . .

So have you seen this card somewhere else? If so link to this so I can see it. If not maybe I am better at card making then I thought ;).

One of these cards was cut 4 1/4" x 11" and one 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
For this card

  • The card base is Whisper White 4 1/4" x 11" folder in half
  • En Francais was stamped in Versamark then onto the front, then covered with gold embossing powder and heat set.
  • On a piece of CS Vellum cut at 4" x 5 1/4" I stamped an image from Elements of Style in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold, this was attached to the front with two Mini Glue dots in the upper corners then a satin Whisper White Ribbon was tied around it to cover where it is attached.
  • On a scrap of Whisper White Mr & Mrs from Tiny Tags was heat embossed Gold I then cut it out with the smallest Heart Framelit. It was layered onto the next larger heart cut from Brushed Gold CS. I small hole was punched in the heart and it was threaded onto some non Stampin' UP!(I've had for years and don't even remember where it came from) wire edged ribbon that I tied around the Satin ribbon the then wrapped the ends around the paint brush that comes with the Embossing trays.
A fairly Elegant card!

Easter

The inspiration for this card came from this card http://stampingwithsandi.com/stampin-up-up-in-the-air-stamp-set/

  • The card base is Naturals White.
  • I used the Butterfly punch to make a stencil, then along the left side of the card I sponged Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight butterflies.
  • I used the Flower Garden embossing folder laid it over the the butterflies and ran it through the Big Shot. I then sanded the ink off of the raised portions of the card.
  • Happy Easter is from Heaven Blessed I stamped it with Versamark onto Baja Breeze and embossed it with Tangerine Tango Embossing powder. I then cut it out with the smallest Label Framlit.
  • I cut out two Daffodil Delight Framelits and cut them in half different directions and framed them under the phrase.  I then added it to the front of the card.
I hope that you have a great april fools day and that you don't get pranked too often.
