Lovely as a Tree- reflections

My stamp club technique for September was refection, this was a sample card that I made (not the one we made but just an example of the technique.
  • Card base is Not Quite Navy.
  • I ran a piece of Pear Pizzazz and a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Top Note die, on the Whisper White piece I cut out along the dotted lines.
  • On the Whisper White I stamped the row of trees with Stazon, then stamped it again on a piece of window sheet, flip it over and lined it up under the row of trees ans gave it a hard rub to transfer the image in reverse under the trees.
  • I punched two 1" circles to use as  masks for my moon. I sponged Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy for my sky, and Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy for my water, the bank is Pear Pizzazz.
  • I used the white gel pen to add some ripples to my water.
  • Many thanks is from Petite Phrases, I colored the stamp with a Pear Pizzazz marker because I didn't want the complete phrase, I then stamped it on a strip of Whisper White. I wrapped the strip around the image Top Note attaching the ends behind the image.
  • I layered the two Top Notes together then using Dimensionals I added it to my card base.
I will show you the card we made for club later, it was a little simpler then this one, but a good learning piece.

Thanks for Caring

Both of these cards use the same stamp from the set Thanks for Caring found in the Occasions Mini (10 more days Left to order from this Mini)

The top card
  •  Card base is Baja Breeze with a front of Whisper White that was ran through the Big Shot with the Finial Press folder.
  • The Top Note Die was used cut a piece of Not Quite Navy and then it was ran through with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.
  • The oval was cut with the Ovals die and then stamp with the phrase using NQN ink. It is popped up with Dimensionals.
The bottom card
  • The card base and all the layers are Whisper White.
  • Layer one was ran through the Big Shout with the Square Lattice folder.
  • Layer two was ran through with the Vintage Wallpaper folder and the corners were punched with the Ticket Corner punch.
  • The oval was cut the same as in the top card but was sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint spray and stamped with Marina Mist.
  • Pearl Jewels were used at the corners that were punched out.

Punch Bunch- Sale-a-bration

The lay out and color choice were inspired by a card made by Lisa Young, using Tiny Teacup http://addinkandstamp.blogspot.com/2011/01/sale-brate-with-stampin-addicts-blog.html

  • Card Base is Crumb Cake with a front of Love Letters DSP I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.
  • I ran some Basic Black CS through the Big Shot and attached it to the card base with part hanging off the card, then trimmed it to fit.
  • I punched a 2 1/2" circle from Crumb Cake and 1 3/4" circle from Basic Black and attached them off center.
  • Using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Basic Black markers directly on the stamp, I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla CS and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle, then added it to the card as well.
Let me know what you think.

Tuxedo Heart- Wedding/failure

When I first came up with the idea of a tuxedo heart I never thought it would become so popular, in fact my daughters roommate had to remind me to post it. ( http://kath-allthatscrap.blogspot.com/2010/01/wedding-no-stamping-2.html )

Here is one that doesn't quite work ;). I used the new color *Marina Mist for the base as well as the Top Note, and while I like this color, paired with white it looks washed out. I love this phrase, it is from a new level 3 Hostess set called Occasional Quotes. The Whisper White card front and heart were run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot folder, the Basic Black heart I used the Square Lattice. I sprayed both pieces of Whisper White with Shimmer Paint Spray.

So here's to one that doesn't quite make it! I'll try again because I still like the Tuxedo Heart cards and it is wedding season again.

*edited. . . I just relized today(6-29-10) that I used Baja Breeze not Marina Mist, I feel so much better about the card now (not that I like it, but I don't dislike Marina Mist)
