Sent With Love

It has been an extremely busy week for me and so I apologize for not posting, it just seemed to fall last on my list.  I did find a few minutes today to make a quick card!  Stampin' UP! had released for a limited time a cute stamp set with matching DSP called Sent With Love.

If you re interested in ordering you can go to  http://kath-allthatscrap.stampinup.net and use the shop now button.

So here is the card I made.
I know I have mentioned this before but in case you missed it my husband is a private pilot with his own plane. So on a regular bases he has retired flight charts and that is what I used instead of DSP.

  • The card base is Soft Suede (I know it is hard to tell in the photo) I rounded to corners opposite each other.
  • I added two layers first Not Quite Navy CS then Rich Razzleberry CS (pulling these colors from the flight chart), again rounding two of the corners.
  • Then I added the flight chart.
  • On a piece of Naturals White I stamped the plane in Not Quite Navy Ink. Below the plane I used a Rich Razzleberry Marker to color just the words on a second stamp from the set. I again rounded two corners to match the rest and then layered it on Rich Razzleberry and Not Quite Navy CS, rounding two corners and adding it to the front.
So there you have it a fst and easy card.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

A simple little card using one of the stamps from the January release of Stampin' UP!'s 25 year anniversary stamp set "Best of Birthdays"

  • The card base is Very Vanilla, I ran the front of it through the Big Shot in the Chevron Embossing Folder.
  • I stamped the cupcake image on a scrap of Watercolor paper, colored it with markers and punched it with the Wide Oval Punch.
  • With the Labels Framelit I cut 2 Pacific Point CS and 1 Primrose Petal CS, I reran the Primrose one through using one of the Designer Frame Embossing Folder. I cut both the Pacific Point Labels in half each one in a different direction and attached them behind the Primrose Label to give it a narrow mat.
  • The image was added to the center of the Labels and added to the card.
Fast and easy!

Artisan Embellishment Kit

This is the second card from our class earlier this week.

  • The card base is Naturals White, the front is Crumb Cake DSP from the Naturals Paper Stack. I used a retired punch without realizing it. Fortunately My friends were good about it they said they could always stop in and use mine. :)
  • I added the heart shaped Dollie from the Kit first then started layering.
  • I stamped and embossed the hearts from Hearts a Flutter on Island Indigo and Primrose Petal and then cut them out with the matching Framelit. Then added them next.
  •  Using the matching markers I inked up the stamp from One in a Million and stamped it on Natruals White and cut it with the matching Framelit. After it was cut I sponged the edges with Primrose Petal Ink. I attached the ticket from the Kit behind the heart and added it to the front.
  • I sandwiched a piece of the Seam Binding between two piece of the lace and attached it to the back of the Heart from the Kit and added it last.
I really hope that you use your embellishment kits. There are so many fun things to make with it.  Leave me a link so I can check out what you have made.

Another Artisan Embellishment Kit (Wedding)

So yesterday was my "Love is in the Air II" classes. Thanks everyone that attended the two classes. Here is the first card we made.  We used elements from the Artisan Embellishment Kit to make this card.

  • The card base is Crumb Cake with a front of Crumb Cake DSP from the Neutrals Paper Stack. I sponged the edges of the DSP with White Craft Ink
  • The doily went on first, then a Pool Party heart stamped and embossed from Hearts a Flutter and cut with the matching Framlit.
  • The tag from the kit was stamped and embossed with the phrase from Word Play then the edges were sponged with White Craft Ink, this was added next.
  • The Seam Binding was pleated on a strip of sticky strip, the Primrose Petals lace was added behind and on the lower edge, then one scallop of the wider lace was added behind it all. This was added over the bottom of the tag.
  • The larger flower was added using 4 or 5 glue dots, then the ticket was added with the Pool Party button added to the corner.
So I hope you are inspired to buy and motivated to use the Artisan Embellishment Kit.  Let me know if I can order one for you.

Spiderman

My granddaughter was invited to a birthday party for a little boy she knows, this is one of the cards I made for her to choose from.

  • The card base is Pacific Point CS.
  • I ran a piece of Basic Black and a piece of Real Red through the Big Shot using two of the new Ovals Collection Framelits.
  • I ran the Real Red piece through the Big Shot in the Spider Web Embossing Folder. After it was embossed I dragged the Stazon pad over the raised design. I then layered it onto the Basic Black oval and added it to the card base.
  • Using the Large Oval Punch I punched two ovals from Whisper White and Basic Black CS. With Paper Snips I cut both Whisper White ovals at the same time then layered them on the Basic Black ones and cut those adding them to the web when I was done.
  • On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped the happy birthday from Itty Bitty Banners in Pacific Point ink then cut it with the Bitty Banners Framelit. I layered it on a scrap of Real Red and snipped the ends to match.
In the end she didn't choose this one to give him. My son says the the eyes need to be bigger so I may try again and use the Wide Oval Punch instead.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

  • On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the tickets from That's the Ticket in Island Indigo and punched them out.
  • I layered a Dollie, a heart from More Amore DSP, the stamped tickets and the buttons and rose from the Artisan Embellishment Kit.
I'm loving the Artisan Embellishment Kit!

Artisan Embellishment Kit

Besides working my Stampin' UP! business I work part time for another great company called A Dezign, doing logo embroidery. I really enjoy working with the people I do.

This past week my bosses daughter needed a large heart cut so while they cut one for her they also cut one for each of us women that work there. I decorated my heart and then yesterday one of my coworkers caame over and I helped her with hers so here they are...

  • I covered the wood with DSP from the More Amore it was after it was glued down I realized I should have put the seam at the top of the heart not near the bottom my embellishments had to be placed lower to cover it

  • I used the Artisan Embellishment Kit as well as the dollies from Tea Lace Paper Dollies, both in the Spring Catalog and Vintage Faceted  Designer Button, main catalog as well as Sale a bration, and the Pool Party button and ribbon from Sycamore Street bundle, Sale a bration and leaves from the Bird punch and heart from More Amore Specialty DSP.

Learning from my mistakes when my friend Mindy came over yesterday we made sure the the seam on her paper was near the top on the bottom.

  • We used DSP from More Amore.

  • .We used Items from the Artisan Embellishment Kit, More Amore DSP, Antique Brad, Large Pearls, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, and Brights Button Collection.
  • The paper roses were made from Cherry Cobbler CS, Primrose Petals CS and Very Vanilla CS sponged with Rose Red. The smaller roses were made from the Fancy Flower punch and the larger one is made using the two larger Scallop punches ans the Owl Builder punch.
  • The roses were painted with Crystal Effects to make the sturdier as well as shinny.
  • The leaves were hand cut from Lucky Limeade and ran through a crimper before being painted.
  • We lightly sponged the dollie with Crumb Cake Ink so the it wasn't so stark white against the Vanilla of the DSP.
So these are our finished hearts.
