Watercooler October Blog Hop!

The watercooler is hopping again! Busy with projects for the holidays, we hope that we can help with inspiration for your own projects.  As always our hop runs in a circle, so click on the links until you are back where you started.  If you did not start here, you may have come from Terri's blog, either way welcome!

First a Curvy Keepsake box, A Turkey for Thanksgiving, a Pilgrim turkey!

Stamps: None
Ink: None
Paper Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White CS
Misc: Circles & Scallops & Artisan & Mosaic Punches, Liquid Multipurpose Glue.

I have been making Christmas cards! I am using both current and retired stamps, bringing stamps that I have loved through the years out and inking them up again. I have seen variations of this card the last couple of years and thought I'd give it a try.

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, greeting is retired
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Marina Mist
Paper: Marina Mist, Real Red CS and Watercolor Paper
Misc: Aqua Painter and Dazzling Details

This is a card that looks so much better in real life instead of as a photo!

And last, another Curvy Keepsake Box, this one is for my son who always sings "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"

Stamps: Good Greetings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green
Paper: Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Basic Black & Garden Green
Misc: Circles, Scallops & Oval Punches

Now it is time to hop on over to my friend Jean's Blog

  2. cute boxes. I once got my mom a "house hippo". (From that commercial, if you haven't seen it, google it) I have yet to get the curvy box die but it's on my list. I love that card too. I have seen various versions of it and I want that stamp set just for that stamp.

  5. I came up with the hippo just today! I was thinking about the hippo song and decided to give it a try. It was a last minute add.

  6. Kath your boxes are da bomb! Love the pilgrim hat on the turkey and fun as the hippo is (he's so darn cute and the Christmas wreath detail is amazing) it's the detail of the tail that really gets me grinning. I love that you take the time to look and create from all sides of the box. Hm...perhaps that's the definition of creating/working "outside of the box"?

Love the serenity and quiet simplicity of your watercolor card too. Beautiful background you created for the stamped images. Soothes the soul.

Hugs and so happy to be hopping with you my friend.

  7. Hi Kath, thank you for continuing to be part of the blog hop. I love your projects. The watercolour card is so serene with its neutrals and then you threw in the "pop" of red. Love it! The Curvy Keepsake boxes? I have a soft spot for them because they're such fun. Your turkey is adorable with its pilgrim's hat. The hippo, however, begs to be CASEd. My son-in-law loves to sing that song and I am determined that this little hippo will wind up in his Christmas stocking filled with some of his favourite candies. TFS

  8. Oh my gosh - I may have to 'case' your hippo box, Kath! That commercial was on when my oldest (19) was young, and he still sings it! :) Your turkey is so cute, if he showed up to my house, he'd get his own seat at the table :) Beautiful colouring with the Serene Silhouettes; one of my fave's.
