So Sale a bration is going strong, here is a card using a Sale a bration stamp set "Outlined Occasions"

The card base is Marina Mist with a front of Not Quite Navy and the top layer is a piece of paper my brother gave me a couple of years ago (He is a printer and from time to time he gives me ends of paper runs)
I cut a piece of Silver Glitter paper with the Framelit Label die
On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the word Celebrate with VersaMark and embossed it with Black. I colored the word with a Marina Mist marker and the confetti with Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy I went over the word and the confetti with Dazzling Details, I also added some of the smallest Rhinestones. This is popped up with Dimensionals.

So here is my confession of the day. . . I messed up on this card! I had cut the Very Vanilla with a nesting Framelit but when I went to stamp the corresponding words that go with Celebrate I did them crooked so I trimmed off the top and the bottom of the Framelit. Card saved!

Gnome Sweet Gnome

Stampin' UP! gave this set to me, I wasn't thrilled with the set but it was FREE. When my granddaughter unpacked my order for me she was so excited with this one, she love, love, loved it! It has grown on me and I see potential in it.

I made a Valentine with my granddaughter and her love of this set in mind.

Card base is Real Red, the paper that is behind the image was cut with one of the Label Framelits, it was a piece that has been in my scrap box for about 8 years (please tell me you hang onto scraps for forever because you never know when you might need it)
I stamped the Gnomes with Stazon onto Watercolor paper and then cut it with a nesting size Framelit, I colored the images with ink and a Blender pen.
The hearts(Brushed Silver and Real Red) were cut with the new Fashionable Hearts Sizzlit. Two were layered between their hands and a lager one was added to a Vellum flag with Happy Valentine's Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in VersaMark and embossed with glittery Cherry Cobbler Embossing powder.

There you go. . . what do you think of it?

Somethings you might want to know:

Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow! For every $50 you spend you can choose some free product.
The catalog year at Stampin' UP! is changing the new catalog will begin on JUNE 1 not on July 1, what does that mean to you? If you love the in colors that came out the summer of 2010(Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade) they will be gone in the catalog that begins June1, so now is the time to stock up.
There will only be two mini catalogs a year they will be larger in size and have more pages and each will last 5 month.
Decor Elements and the Simply Adorned will not be carried in the new catalog, those lines will be discontinued.

So on to a card. . .

This card uses Framelits and Edgelits and two stamp sets from the Occasions Mini!

The card base is Whisper White with the front edge cut with an Edgelit. I strip of Pink Pirouette was also cut to match and adhered to the inside of the card.
Using the Label Framelits I cut Marina Mist CS and with a nesting size cut a Pink Pirouette Label, the Marina Mist Label was run through the Big Shot with the Starburst Embossing Folder.
I stamped the image from Apothecary Art with Versamark onto Whisper White CS and heat embossed it with Black Embossing powder. I then colored the flowers lightly with a Blender Pen and Marina Mist Ink. I then hand cut it out close the the line so that it would leave a small line of Pink Pirouette showing under it.
The phrase is from Loving Thoughts and was stamped in Marina Mist.

Perfectly Penned Out West

Card base is Crumb Cake with a front of DSP Mocha Morning.
Very Vanilla and Early Espresso CS were run through the Big Shot with Framelits Labels, The Very Vanilla was sponged with Soft Suede with Thank you from Perfectly Penned stamped with Soft Suede.
The boot and hat from Out West was stamped in Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake and cut out and popped up with Dimensionals.

Motorcycle Valentine

I think this is the sample that was the deciding factor in the local store deciding to carry my cards.

I was so sad that this stamp had such a short catalog life.

Card base is Real Red, layered with Basic Black then Brushed Silver that was ran through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate.
I stamped the motorcycle on Watercolor Paper and then used the Framelits Hearts to cut it out. I used Ink and Aqua Painter to color the Image.
The same computer generated phrase as I used yesterday was popped up with Dimensionals on the card front.

This is the other card that I have already sold some of from my stash.

Out West- Valentine

Our only store in town is a combined Grocery/Ace hardware store, but we were happy when it opened 2 1/2 months ago. They are going to be carrying my cards for sale. I have been busy making cards to replace the cards my granddaughter sold at Christmas time, with Valentines coming up I have been making a wide variety of cards. Here is one using Out West.

Card base is Marina Mist with a front of DSP (from the holiday mini so sadly no longer available).
On a piece of Very Vanilla CS I stamped the cowboy with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and Clear Embossed it. I then cut it out with the Label Framelits, I layered it on a piece of Chocolate Chip CS cut the next size up.
The phrase is computer generated and printed on Very Vanilla, the hearts (Very Vanilla and Real Red) were punched one with the lg Heart Punch and one with a Framelit Heart.
The Embossed hearts in the upper corner are Very Vanilla, Real Red and Chocolate Chip(my granddaughter spent an hour in my craft room running CS through the Big Shot using up a lot of my scraps, she even sorted them by size into a divided box) cut with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit from the Occasions Mini.

I have already sold some of this one and it hasn't even made it to the store yet.

Framelits Label Dies

If you haven't bought the Framelits yet you need to!

The card base is Melon Mambo cut with the largest of the Framelit Label Dies. The front is Basic Black cut with the next smaller size.
On the Basic Black CS I stamped the branch of roses with White Craft ink
On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the Valentine phrase from Delightful Dozen, I inked it with Melon Mambo then went over the "Be my" with a Black marker before stamping. I then laid different Framelits over it until I found the one that framed the phrase the best. I sponged the edges with Melon Mambo ink and popped it up with Dimensionals.
After I had it put together I decided to add the 3 Rhinestones under the phrase.

Perfectly Penned

One of the girls that went to school with my daughter just got married her colors were red and silver. For her shower I gave her a card keeper and a collection of cards, along with general occasions I made a dozen Thank Yous.

Card base is Whisper White, with a front of Real Red.
A layer of Whisper White sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint Spray was ran through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines folder, leaving the top 1 1/4" out.
Using Versamark and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder(mixed with fine red glitter) I stamped the Perfectly Penned thank you in the top flat space.
I wrapped a 1/4" strip of Silver Glimmer paper around the Whisper White at the break line.

Crazy for Cupcakes!

I love Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade together, I added So Saffron with them.

The card base is Whisper White
I layered So Saffron on top of Calypso Coral, near the bottom in Poppy Parade I stamp the phrase from Create a Cupcake. Next, approximately 3/4" from the bottom I punched two holes, threaded ribbon down from the top, and back up from the back, then attached this to the card base.
I stamped the stack of cupcakes from Crazy for Cupcakes in Stazon onto Whisper White. I colored the image with Ink and a Blender pen, using So Saffron, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, and Sahara Sand. I layered it and added it to the card front.

Granddaughters Own Class

Last month after Club, my seven year old granddaughter came in while I was finishing up. She asked, "Grandma why can't I ever come to one of your classes?" I told her I would do a class for her and one friend that she could choose. They made gifts for their mothers for Christmas, the following is what they made. . .

I let them use the Hostess DSP Cheerful Treat, I lined up the Framelits, they cranked the handle and we went through a lot of tape and glue dots, they were so happy to make something and I became the "Best Grandma!"

My club ladies want me to do this as a class.

This card uses the stamp set Sweet Cake found on pg 33

The card base is Confetti White layered with Soft Suede and then a piece of DSP from the Well Worn collection. the corners of the two layers were punched with the Ticket Corner punch
I colored the stamp with Markers and stamped it on a piece of Confetti White(until I posted the picture I didn't notice how bad it is, the frosting on the cupcake is Pink Piorette) I stamped the Happy Birthday in the rectangle coloring it first with Markers.
I popped the image up with Dimensionals.

My first card is using the stamp set Heaven Blessed on pg 20 of the Occasions Mini I fell in love with the cute little boy and the cute animal images.

Here are the details

· The card base is Marina Mist layered with Old Olive and then a layer of DSP, the DSP is Letters to Santa (I think I like the non Christmas sides of these paper better then the Christmas side.

· I used the Framelits Dies (pg 6 Occasions Mini) Labels Collection to cut Watercolor Paper and Old Olive CS.

· I stamped the image with Stazon onto the Watercolor paper and the colored it with Ink and an Aqua Painter.

· My Easter Greeting is on the inside of the card.

The second card uses Baby Prints found on pg 38 of the Occasions Mini

· The card base is Whisper White and I used the Edgelits (pg 7) for the bottom of the card and the Framelits for the image

· A strip of DSP Cheerful Treat was used behind the scallops on the bottom

· The tiny feet were inked with Wisteria Wonder ink and stamped on Whisper White CS the edges of the Framelit cut is sponged with Lucky Limeade. Baby from Tiny Tags was stamped with Lucky Limeade and punched out with the Jewelry Tag punch, a Lucky Limeade and Wistera Wonder tag was also punched they were pinned through the CS with a pin from Vintage Trinkets.

· it was then layered onto a Framelit cut from DSP Paper Stacks 2011-2013 In color.

Third up was hard for me to pick but decided to show a card from the Upcoming Sale-a-bration Catalog I used a set the is free with a $50 order, it is found on pg 15 of that catalog

· The card base is Naturals White Sponged with Soft Suede the DSP is another Sale-a-bration Freebie found on pg 7 called Everyday Enchantment I used pieces from two different sheets, the edges are also sponged.

· The stamp set is called Elementary Elegance, I stamped the frame with Versamark and Embossed with Gold Embossing Powder in the middle I stamped Happy Birthday from the set using Poppy Parade. I hand cut it out and popped it up on the card with Dimensionals.

there are a wide range of opinions from it is OK to CASE to you should never CASE, fortunately more are for then against. Pretty much everyone agrees if you CASE you must credit who you are CASEing. Now sometimes I have a problem doing that. . . and the cards I am sharing today are cards I made that I know might be a CASE, but I didn't bookmark the idea. Why didn't I? Well as I scan blogs looking at what others have done I am usually looking at layouts and color combo not necessarily looking for something to CASE, but sometimes I will see a card that makes me decide to buy a stamp set that I don't already have, I guess we all have done that. Now sometimes by the time I order the set and then get the chance to use it I don't have anything but a memory of what I saw that made me decide to buy it, I have no idea how close these cards are to the one that inspired me to buy them but here they are, if you recognize them let me know I'd like to be able to compare what I have done with what inspired me to buy the set.

First up Field Flowers, I had marked this as a set I liked but hadn't bought it until October of last year, I bought it because I saw a card that "spoke to me" and though I couldn't find it when I had the set this is what it reminded me of.

The card base is Very Vanilla
Front of Basic Black under Very Vanilla
Hello Doily is stamped with Crumb Cake and the Field Flowers are stamped with Versamark and embossed in Black, Very Vanilla Seam Binding is knotted around the front
Best Wishes from Petite Pairs was embossed and punched out with a 1" circle, it is popped up with Dimensionals and the tiniest of the Pearls are added under the words

The next card uses stamp sets I had, I know that the color (purple isn't a color I use often) and lay out are the same but I am pretty sure that the card I had seen used different stamp sets.

Card base is Perfect Plumb
Front of Elegant Eggplant under Confetti White
The rose spray from Elements of Style was stamped with Elegant Eggplant
An oval of Elegant Eggplant was cut with the Ovals die and the Big Shot, a piece of the scallop polka dotted ribbon was attached to the back of the oval and it was popped up with Dimensionals on the card
Thank you was stamped with Elegant Eggplant and stamped onto a strip of Confetti White that had the ends punched with the corner of the Curly Label punch it was added to the oval and Rhinestones were added to the ends.

So here are the two card that I made last year that how closely they are CASEd I am not sure, whoever you are that inspired me to make these cards I thank you!

Christmas Lodge

I made this card in October, I really wanted to go with a snow-globe look, I just couldn't get a look I was happy with so this is what I came up with instead.

The card base is Crumb Cake, with Soft Suede and Dazzling Details sponged on the edges.
a 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" piece of Frostwood Lodge DSP was added to the lower portion of the base.
The Lodge was stamped with Early Espresso on a 3" circle of Crumb Cake(again the edges were sponged the same as the edge of the card) The snow in the image was colored with the white gel pen the was covered with the Dazzling Details.
On a strip on Crumb Cake the Merry Christmas was stamped, the C and the swirls were Cherry Cobbler and the rest of the word is Early Espresso, the edges were sponged with Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Dazzling Details.
The Ribbon was wrapped around the card with the ends hidden behind the Circle.

I think this was my favorite of the cards I made this year. I hope that you all have a Very Merry Christmas and stop by after Christmas to see some of the cards I have been making with stamp sets from the upcoming Mini catalog.

Medallion

I had the embossed Medallion sitting in my unfinished pile from last year I thought I better use it.

Card base is Whisper White with a front of Real Red
The Medallion was inked with Versamark, stamped on Crumb Cake and embossed with white Embossing Powder.
Real Red Satin Ribbon was knotted and then attached to the back of the Crumb Cake then added to the card front.
The ornament from Delightful Decorations was inked in Versamark and embossed with the sparkly red embossing powder that I mixed this year, then it was punched out with the Ornament punch. A pearl was added to the O in joy and then it was popped up in the center of the Medallion.
Merry from Tiny Tags was stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and punched out with the tiny tag punch it was tied to the ribbon with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

Sometimes it is good to use up piece you have laying around.

Have you heard?!! The stocking punch is NOT carrying on to the main catty, it is only while supplies last, so if you haven't bought and you still want it you better get on it.

Card base is Naturals Ivory, the Happy Holidays is stamped with Wild Wasabi directly to the base.
The Stockings were punched from Frostwood Lodge DSP as well as Wild Wasabi CS, the CS was run through the Big Shot with the Snowburst folder before punching.
Stockings are popped up on Dimensionals.

Another fast and simple card.

Simple and Masculine

I needed some quick to make Birthday cards, this is what I came up with.

Card base is Whisper White, with a front of Early Espresso
A piece of 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White, place about 3 1/2" in the stripes folder and run through the Big Shot.
Using Early Espresso ink I stamped Happy Birthday from Perfectly Penned in the flat area.
Knot a quilted Early Espresso ribbon just under the words and layer onto the front.

Pretty quick to make.

My door

The door is another card that is widely seen around blogdom this year. Here is my door.

Card Base is Whisper White with a front of wood grain DSP from Frostwood Lodge.
The panels are 1" wide popped up with Dimensionals on Whisper White CS the is 1 1/4" wide.
The door knob is Bushed Gold word Window repunched to be smaller with I circle popped up with 3 mini glue dots stacked on each other.
The wreath is from the felt pieces Winter Wishes.
Merry Christmas from Petite Pairs was stamped on a strip of Whisper White in Real Red and added to the wreath.

This was/is a card in the December card buffet.

Full of Life

I needed a fast wedding card so I grabbed Full of Life;

The card base is Whisper White with a front of Regal Rose, then the In Color DSP in Pool Party. I wrapped White Taffeta ribbon around the DSP and tied a charm that had been laying around for awhile.
I cut a 3" circle with the Big Shot, sponged the edges with Pool Party and Dazzling Details.
Using Pool Party and Regal Rose Markers I colored the words on the stamp and then stamped them in the center of the circle.
The circle was added to the card with Dimensionals.

Happy Dirtday!

Yesterday was my birthday, I thought the Clearance sale was a nice kick off for it. Here is a Birthday Card instead of a Christmas. I used the set I Dig You to make this card, I thought it makes a cute little boy card.

The card base is Naturals White with a front of Marina Mist and a 3 3/4"x5" Naturals White.
I sponged Crumb Cake along the bottom of the card to make dirt.
I colored the stamps themselves with markers and stamped them onto the card.
I masked the back of the dump truck and the scoop on the track hoe to stamp the dirt (I only wanted part of the dirt to show) I then masked the dirt, and stamped the gifts to look like they were in the dirt.
Last I stamped the phrase in Marina Mist and stamped it diagonally on the card.

Delightful Dozen

This is one of those cards that look so much better in real life then in a photo.

Card base is Naturals White with a front of Brushed Gold, then a layer of Cherry Cobbler then Very Vanilla with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray.
I ran a piece of sprayed Very Vanilla through the Big Shot using the Ovals die, I stamped the Christmas phrase from Delightful Dozen in Versamark and used the sparkly Cherry Cobbler embossing powder (yesterdays post) I sponged the edges of the oval with Soft Suede. The oval was popped up with Dimensionals.

Fast and Easy- Lovely as a Tree

I usually spray about half a package of Whisper White with Frost Shimmer Paint Spray, that way I can put weight on it to flatten and then use them on any project. This year I made Glittered Embossing Powder, I made it in Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wasabi, for the Cherry I added the fine red glitter(1 part glitter, 3parts embossing powder, or there abouts) For the Wasabi I added Dazzling Diamonds.

Card base is Garden Green with a front of Cherry Cobbler.
on a 3 3/4" x 5" Shimmer Whisper White I stamped the pine from Lovely as a Tree with Versamark in the center of the paper. I added glitter embossing powder and heat set.
I used the Petals-a-Plenty folder, running the image through the Bog Shot twice, using the folder on each side of the image.

A simple card but very sparkly. Have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Season

This was a card that was in my card buffet.

Card base is Cherry Cobbler with a front of Whisper White sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint spray, ran through the Big Shot with the Northern Flurry folder.
Using the Ovals Die I cut and oval from Watercolor paper and a larger one from Cherry Cobbler CS.
I stamped the image from Beautiful Season with Stazon onto the Watercolor Paper I colored the image with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. I layered the image onto the Cherry Cobbler oval and added it to the card front.
Using Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green markers I inked up the phrase from the set and stamped it onto the card front.

Ornament Tag

I made these tags for my neighbor gifts. This was inspired by Sharon

Base Silver 2 1/2" circle of Glimmer paper with a round tab at the top.
first lolly is 1 1/8" CS vellum scored at 1/4"
Next I sponged a Silver Glimmer Scallop Circle with Marina Mist.
I add a 1/2" lolly again scored at 1/4"
The largest of the Boho Flowers was punched from Silver Glimmer paper.
Last an Antique Brad was added.

These are so shinny and pretty! I had to order more paper I liked them so much.

Winter Window

I have seen so many windows, doors, awnings and fireplaces as card fronts and I think they can make an interesting card, here is my window.

The card base is Marina Mist.
The phrase from Four the Holidays was stamped with Marina Mist on a Whisper White front that was then embossed with the Big Shot using the Snow Burst folder.
The image was stamped on a square of Whisper White, I stamped the tree line from Lovely As A Tree near the top of the square and the sledding children from Welcome Christmas at the bottom. I the cut the square in half both directions.
The window pane is a square of the wood grained DSP from Frostwood Lodge, I layered my 4 image squares on it and the added a small strip of DSP as the window sill.

I really the window card.

Many Merry Messages

This card is so shinny!

The card base is Whisper White sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint Spray. The front of Marina Mist was also sprayed lightly.
I cut the snowflakes with the Big Shot and for the Glimmer paper I had to use as thick of a shim as I could and still run it through the Big Shot.
The strip of Glimmer paper ribbon was cut from the edge of the strip of paper the I cut the snowflakes from.(it is hard to see in the photo but there is a bow on the right side.
I sprayed a piece of Whisper White with the shimmer spray and when it was dry(heat gun is great for doing that) I stamped the phrase from Many Merry Messages in Marina Mist on it.
The snowflakes are Silver Glimmer paper and Marina Mist sprayed with Shimmer Paint Spray. Rhinestone Jewels are in the centers of the snowflakes.

Punch Art Tags for Club

Yesterday was the last club day for 2011, so if you are in the Salem Utah area and are interested in joining a Technique Hostess Club contact me to join the 2012 Club. For Decembers Club we made Punch Art Tags at the request of some of the ladies. Here are the four tags we made and the punches/dies used. I am not sure who the original ideas were for the different punch art, I thought I came up with the pemguin a few years ago, but noticed simular ones out there, the moose idea came from a card Lynn Pratt made a year or so ago. The rest are taken from a combo of many I have seen. Here are the 4 we made.

Welcome Christmas

This card is so much better in real life, the season's Greetings is so sparkly, I mixed my Cherry Cobbler embossing powder with my fine red glitter and made myself sparkly embossing powder. The Whisper White was sprayed with Shimmer Paint Spray.

The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Always Artichoke.
I ran the top 3/4 of a 3 3/4"x5" piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Snow Burst folder. Then the greeting from Many Merry Messages was stamped in Versa Mark and embossed with embossing powder. Cherry Cobbler ribbon was wrapped around it and it was added to the front.
I stamped the family from Welcome Christmas on a scrap of Whisper White in Always Artichoke and punched it with the 2 1/2" circle and sponged the edges with Always Artichoke.
A 3" Circle was ran through the Big Shot with the Petals a Plenty folder and the image was then layered on top of it and the added to the card front.

I put this stamp set on my wish list when it came out last July, I finally bought it last month. This card was one of my "Card Buffet" cards(you can come over every Tuesday and stamp cards ate $2 each to make, make as many as you would like), I made this as a Birthday card but the sentiment could(and was) change for any occasion.

Card base is Marina Mist, then each layer is 1/4" smaller then the last, in order- Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Whisper White.
The flowers are two step stamping. First layer was Marina Mist second layer Not Quite Navy. The stems are Old Olive.
My phrase is from Petite Pairs, one of my favorites to use, I stamped it in Not Quite Navy.
I used a Daffodil Delight marker to "dot" the flower centers.

I love the blues and yellows together!

Word Play

I love the Well Worn DSP!

Card base is Very Vanilla CS with a front of Not Quite Navy CS with a 3 3/4" x 5" of Well Worn DSP.
The phrase from Word Play was stamped onto a strip Of Very Vanilla in NQN.
A piece of Island Indigo(coordinates well with NQN) ribbon was tied around the CS.
Two pearls were colored with sharpies, first orange and then brown came the closest to Cajun Craze.
The Very Vanilla CS was layered onto a strip of Not Quite Navy CS then added to the card.

This is a fast and easy card to make and shows off the Well Worn DSP.

Perfectly Penned Christmas(Really called Hand-Penned Holidays)

This card was a fast and easy card.

Card base is Whisper White CS
Front of Real Red CS
3 3/4"x5" Whisper White CS the top 3" was run through the Big Shot with the folder Stripes. Merry Christmas from Perfectly Penned oops the stamp set really is Hand-Penned Holidays was inked up in Real Red and stamped onto the flat part of the Whisper White, I piece of Real Red Taffeta Ribbon was tied just where the strips ended and the flat part began.
I stamped the image from Welcome Christmas on Whisper White (I had a scrap with Shimmer Frost sprayed on it, it made the Real Red not so Real Red) I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch and layered it onto a Real Red Circle. I added it to the front of the card.

Turtle & Co

We finished all the Wedding Celebrating this past week end with an Open House in California. Sadly my laptop cord got a short in it and it took until yesterday afternoon to get a new cord. So my blog was neglected.

Today's card was from my weekly Card Buffet and uses the stamp set that is the Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set. It is call Turtle and Co.

The card base is Naturals White with a front of Old Olive, the bottom half was debossed with the Starburst folder.
I colored directly on the stamps with Marker and stamped the onto Naturals White CS. I then lightly colored the images with ink and a Blender Pen.
I used two phrases from Petite Pairs stamped in Old Olive.
Image is layer onto Island Indigo and again on Calypso Coral.

So the wonderful ladies that I Blog Hop with did a Christmas card swap, I will be taking pictures of them and posting them so that you can get wonderful ideas for Christmas cards.

Today's card Uses Hello Doily and Perfectly Penned. . .

The card base is Whisper White with a front of Rich Razzleberry.
The card front has Hello Doily stamped with VersaMark on two diagonal corners embossed with White Embossing Powder.
I used the Ovals die and the Big Shot to cut two layering ovals one from Whisper White and one from Rich Razzleberry, over it is a banner of Whisper White stamped with Celebrate Today in Rich Razzleberry.
Two Rhinestones were colored with Sharpies and added to the ends of the phrase.

25 & Counting and Peek- a- boo frame

I'm back! Saturday was a wonderful day! It was my 28th Anniversary and the day that my daughter Jamie got married. Saturday started with a snow storm, as we drove to the wedding we passed wreak after wreck, I was worried about the safety of the guests that were coming but all arrived safely. It snowed the entire time we were inside for the ceremony but as soon as we came out the snow stopped. It was chilly taking pictures outside in several inches of snow but I think we had some lovely shots. My daughter wanted to serve hot cocoa with mix ins and donut holes and cookies for her reception so the weather was perfect for that! Everyone one seemed to enjoy themselves. . .

The wedding is over, unfortunately I was so busy with everything that I didn't take pictures of everything myself, so I will have to post later the things I did stamping on for the wedding when we get the proofs from the photographer.

On to the card. . .

I use Naturals white for the base of the card with a piece of Holly Berry Bouquet DSP on the bottom half of the card.
I cut a Peek a boo frame out of Wild Wasabi CS and added it above the DSP. I stamped Noel from Many Merry Messages (masking the edges) under the flap, in Cherry Cobbler.
I stamped day 25 from the 25 & Counting stamp set in Night of Navy with Cherry Cobbler on the 25 onto A scrap of Whisper White CS and punched it with the 1" square. I layered it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler punched with the Postage Stamp punch then layered it again onto a Scallop Square of Whisper White and added it to the Peek a boo frame.
I added a Rhinestone to the star above the manger.

Stamping with Bleach

Thanks everyone that visited the Do the Llama Hop especially those that left the kind comments!

This is the card we made in club this month, the technique was stamping with Bleach. The first card the leaves were stamped with bleach, the second card was bleach the colored with chalk.

The card base is Naturals White with a layer of Pumpkin Pie CS.
On a Piece of Early Espresso cut 3 3/4"x5" I stamped the leaves from French Foliage in bleach then onto the CS, letting it dry. after drying the leaves on the second card were colored with chalk. This was added to the card base.
The phrase is from pursuit of Happiness. It was stamped in Pumpkin Pie then Grateful was colored with the Cajun Craze marker then stamped onto Naturals White CS. It was layered onto Cajun Craze then onto Pumpkin Pie. The finished phrase was added to the card front.

Stamping with Bleach gives such interesting results depending on the Card Stock color.

Bridal Shower Thank you cards

My daughter Jamie's Wedding colors (in Stampin' UP names) are Elegant Eggplant, Handsome Hunter, Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy, I made the cards with a random combination of those colors. The card above is Elegant Eggplant, NQN and Handsome Hunter.

The card base is Naturals White
The fronts were stamped with Hello Doily inked in Versamark and embossed in White.
The Thank you from Perfectly Penned was stamped in one of the four colors on a strip of Naturals White then the end were punched with a corner of the Curly Label Punch, I added a Pearl on each end.
I Ran Naturals White through the Big Shot with the Ovals die using the largest of the ovals. I also ran the four colors through using the oval the next size down.
All my colored Card stock was sprayed with Shimmer Paint Spray.
The two ovals were layered onto the card front and then the phrase was added, I used two Dimensionals stacked onto each other in the center of the phrase and a glue dot on each end.

So the Wedding is now 17 days away. I am busy making some of the table decorations and still making arrangements for some of the things we thought were taken care of- but the people that were supposed to do it flaked out(photographer and cake decorator)

Autumn Days

My daughter's wedding is fast approaching and there is still so much to do! I have had very little time to keep up with my blog. In less then three weeks she will be married!

I tried to make an Autumn card, I even pulled out my only autumn stamp set, Autumn Days, it ended up Christmas instead.

The card base is Very Vanilla
I used a 2 1/2" circle for my image and a 1 3/8" one for the phrase cut from Very Vanilla.
I used markers to color the image on the stamp and stamped it in the center of the circle, I colored it again and stamped it onto a scrap and then cut the pine cones out and layered them over the first image with Dimensionals. I used Garden Green and Real Red to color the two words and stamped it in the center of the smaller circle.
I used a 3" and 1 3/4" circles cut from Garden Green and run through the Big Shot with the new Snow Burst folder. I layered my image and phrase onto the circles.
I cut a strip of DSP from the Holly Berry Bouquet collection, layered it onto Chocolate Chip CS.
I ran a square of Real Red through the Big Shot in the Petals-a-plenty folder.
I layered the square on the base then the DSP, then the circles.
After I put it together I decided that the branch needed a bow so I added a 1/8" taffeta bow in real red. I added a little bit of Dazzling Details to the pine cones to give them a little sparkle.

Halloween Treats

Treat ideas to give to friends!

The jar is s'mores in a jar the recipe is on the back of the tag that was embossed with the Haunted Forest stamp.
The cello sleeves can be filled with M &M's, York Pieces, Jelly Bellies and even pencils. It is topped with a scallop circle that has an image from Batty for You.
The match box is cut out with the Big Shot and filled with chocolates that have been wrapped with the Halloween stamp from It's a Wrap Holiday. The box is topped with an accordion rosette that has a scallop circle stamped with an image from Batty for You.

Every thing but Batty for you, card stock, Big Shot, and Match box die are in the Holiday Mini.

My Daughter gets married in less then a Month!

Uncharted Territory- reflection

This is the card we made for my reflection class, it was a little easier to make then the Lovely as a Tree card from my last post.

The card base is Not Quite Navy.
The Top Note die was used to cut a Cherry Cobbler and a Naturals White, I trimmed the Naturals White along the dotted line that the die cuts into the Top Note.
I colored the sailboat stamp with markers, I used Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, and More Mustard. and stamped it on the top half of the Top Note, I recolored the stamp but lest the sun uncolored and stamped it on a Window Sheet, flipped it over and pressed the image below the stamped boat.
I lightly sponged Marina Mist over the water.
I stamped Happy Birthday from Create a Cupcake in Cherry Cobbler on a 3/4" strip of paper I layered it onto a 1" strip of Not Quite Navy and wrapped it around the Top Note.
Last I added the Top Note to my base.

Lovely as a Tree- reflections

My stamp club technique for September was refection, this was a sample card that I made (not the one we made but just an example of the technique.

Card base is Not Quite Navy.
I ran a piece of Pear Pizzazz and a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Top Note die, on the Whisper White piece I cut out along the dotted lines.
On the Whisper White I stamped the row of trees with Stazon, then stamped it again on a piece of window sheet, flip it over and lined it up under the row of trees ans gave it a hard rub to transfer the image in reverse under the trees.
I punched two 1" circles to use as masks for my moon. I sponged Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy for my sky, and Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy for my water, the bank is Pear Pizzazz.
I used the white gel pen to add some ripples to my water.
Many thanks is from Petite Phrases, I colored the stamp with a Pear Pizzazz marker because I didn't want the complete phrase, I then stamped it on a strip of Whisper White. I wrapped the strip around the image Top Note attaching the ends behind the image.
I layered the two Top Notes together then using Dimensionals I added it to my card base.

I will show you the card we made for club later, it was a little simpler then this one, but a good learning piece.

Yep, Another Elebration Card!

This was the first Elebration card I made, I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to post it.

Card base is River Rock with a front of DSP called Cheerful Treat, it is one of the Hostess Selections.
Elebration was stamped with Stazon on Watercolor Paper and colored with Markers and an Aqua Painter. Colors used Basic Gray, River Rock, Crushed Concord, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink. The phrases I used are from Petite Pairs, the first one was stamped directly on the Watercolor Paper with Melon Mambo.
The image was layered onto Crushed Concord then onto Melon Mambo then onto the card front.
The second phrase was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched out with the Small Oval Punch it was layered onto a die cut from the Matchbox die cut from Concord Crush.

So there you go. Have a great day and enjoy some time stamping.

Greeting Card Kids-Blue Christmas

Of all the stamp sets that SU sells with kids images in them, Greeting Card Kids is the only one that I like. I really like the images in this set!

On to today's card!

The card base is Whisper White with a Marina Mist front that was ran through the Big Shot with the Northern Flurry folder. I then punched it with the Word Window punch.
I stamped the image of the little girl on Watercolor paper with Stazon and then colored her with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The colors I used were Regal Rose, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and Garden Green.
The image was layered onto Not Quite Navy and then onto Whisper White.
Merry Christmas was stamped onto the base through the Word Window opening using Not Quite Navy.

A Christmas Carol- September's Christmas Card Class

So this is the card that we will be making on Monday for September's Christmas Card Class. Each guest will be making 10 of these. Cost for class is $15.

The base is Crumb Cake that is sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray.
The image is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla CS, the edges are sponged in Early Espresso.
The image is layered on Early Espresso CS, that has a piece of Cherry Cobbler Quilted ribbon knotted around it, a piece of Vanilla Velvet ribbon is threaded through the knot.
Merry Christmas from Petite Pairs was stamped on a scrap of Very Vanilla , then punched with the 1" square punch, then is tied around the knot with Cherry Cobbler Baker's twine.

I still have a couple of spaces left for this class so let me know if you are interested.

Dinoroar Birthday Card

Since my son Trevor loved this stamp set I used it for his birthday card when he turned 15.

The card base is River Rock with a Well Worn DSP front.
On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the triceratops in Cherry Cobbler, masked it and stamped the brontosaurus in Not Quite Navy, the the T-rex in Always Artichoke. the flying one was stamped in Cajun Craze.
The birthday phrase is stamped under the images with NQN.
On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped Roar in Cajun Craze and punched it out with the small oval. I layered it with Diemensionals onto a piece of Cajun Craze that was cut with the Matchbox Die.

I thought it made a cute card and it made Trevor smile.

The image was stamped on Whisper White with Stazon and then colored with a Crumb Cake marker and layered onto Crumb Cake CS
Roar was stamped with Crumb Cake as well
The letters are from Naturally Serif Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die cut from Crumb Cake CS.

Water Cooler Llama Swap #2 part 1

Last March a group of my friends ( http://kath-allthatscrap.blogspot.com/2011/03/countryside-get-well-wishes.html the end of the post tells how we became friends) had a card swap, this is our second one.

Before we get to the cards from the swap I thought you might like to know that on Sept. 9th many of the ladies from our fun little group will be doing a blog hop of current projects, so these cards are just a teaser of the talents of some of the ladies.

Accordion Rosette (or lollies) Wreath

You may have heard that the upcoming Holiday Mini has a scoring tool and I am happy that Stampin' UP! has added Simply Scored. While I had a Score Pad I decided to pre-order the Simply Scored and this is the project that I made using it.

I used DSP from the Up coming Mini that is called Pick Your Poison. I used Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizazz CS.

I cut strips at 1", 1 1/2" and 2" wide -DSP was 12" long and the CS was 11" long. They were scored every 1/2" and each rosette was made with two strips.

The Happy Halloween is from the Up coming Mini as well. it is called Hand Penned Holidays.

I am planning a class in making the wreath, there will be Halloween, Autumn or Christmas as a choice.

Six days left in the Summer Mini!

Crazy for Cup Cakes plus the Hostess Set from the Summer Mini Swirls & Curls Verses

The card base is Pear Pizazz with a front of Concord Crush, then Daffodil Delight, then Whisper White.
On the Whisper White layer I stamped the balloons from Crazy for Cupcakes with Stazon.
On Watercolor Paper I stamped just the balloon part six times with Stazon. and then colored them Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Pacific Point. I cut each balloon out and started layering them on the previously stamped balloons, popping the center one up with Dimensionals.
I stamped the happy birthday from Swirls and Curls Verses in Stazon on a strip of Whisper White that I ribbon cut the ends of. I colored the two balloons with a Blender Pen and ink. I then layered it on Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and then Concord Crush.
Finally I added the layered phrase onto the front of my card.

Trying to get back into the swing of things. . .

It has been hard trying to catch up after being gone for two months! It seems not much was done around the house. . . the yard is out of control. . . I'm not sure if I remember how to stamp. . .

Today's card is one that I can't decide if I like, but here is what I did:

The base is Whisper White with a front of Calypso Coral
I ran a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth folder and added it to the front.
I punched two holes near the fold and ran Black Scallop dotted ribbon through it and knotted it.
On Whisper White I stamped Birthday Wishes from Bring On the Cake with Stazon and punched it with the Wide Oval punch.
I punched a Decorative Label from Calypso Coral and added it to the front with the the phrase popped up with Dimensionals.

So that is the card.

Delightful Dozen

SO many fun Birthday sets in this year catalog! Delightful Dozen is an all occasion stamp set found on page 167 of the IBC and I love this stamp that is for Birthdays.

The card base is Melon Mambo cut at 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half with a front of DSP from the Hostess selection called Cheerful Treat.
I used Markers in Lucky Limeade, Old Olive and Always Artichoke to color all the Birthday phrases on the stamp, then stamped it onto Whisper White and punched it out with the largest circle punch. Then layered it onto a Melon Mambo die cut circle.
On a second die cut circle I used Dimensionals to pop up a cupcake punched with the Cupcake Builder punch. I ran a scrap of Whisper White through the Big Shot in the Manhattan Flower folder to get the swirls for the Cupcake. The Old Olive scrap was ran through the Crimper to make the wrapper of the cupcake.

Still trying to catch up from being gone for two months, I am late on sending swaps to a bunch of my friends(it is a good thing they are understanding) so I am sending in a preorder for the holiday mini and doing laundry while planning my swap- wish me luck!

Strength and Hope (done simple)

This month is the last month with the Summer Mini, if you have bought this set yet remember that a portion of the sales go to Brest Cancer Research. . .

The card base is Sahara Sand
I masked the lower inch of the card and after leaving approximately one inch open I masked the upper part of the card. I sponged Pear Pizazz in the opening.
Using Versamark I stamped the butterfly in the center of the sponged line, I stamped two more upside down next to it. I covered the Versamark with the new Melon Mamba embossing powder and heat set it. I added a rhinestone jewel at the base of each antenna.
The phrase from the hostess set Swirls and Curls Verses was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Tangerine Tango.

Simple and easy!

On the Grow (home from Scout Camp)

The scooter in On the Grow just needed to be Poppy Parade (IMHO)

The card base is Poppy Parade
The scooter was stamped with Stazon on Watercolor paper, I colored it with Ink and an Aqua Painter. I matted the image with Pear Pizazz.
Using Striped (Wheel) on Whisper White with Poppy Parade ink, Layered on Poppy Parade and again on Whisper White I added it as an element to the left hand side of the card.
Thinking of you was stamped in Pear Pizazz on Whisper White and punched with a circle punch then layered on a Poppy Parade circle then a Pear Pizazz Circle this was popped up with Dimensionals.

Now that Scout Camp is over I will be posting more often! I planning new classes and I hope to see everyone soon. I hope that you are having a great summer. Keep on Stamping!

Two Weeks of Scout Camp Left!

This week has been eventful! It started Sunday night up at camp with a friendly wrestling match between my son Ryan and one of his friends. This was the results of the match. . .

So instead of going home that night and getting sleep I made a trip to the ER, with in 5 minutes of my leaving to the ER 3 more staff members got injured in accidents (we had only had one all summer, then last Sunday 4 in ten minutes). It was suggested by the camp director that maybe he should take some time of to heal, Ryan wasn't willing, he did go home at night with me but he was at work everyday. He works in shooting Sports but he didn't let being one armed stop him.

Yes he did hit the target and earned 9 points for the shot, it impressed the scouts.

We had many handicapped boys in camp this week. One scout group really impressed me with how well they included the handicapped boy in their group. Maple Dell has a competition called the Jr Iron man, it is done with teams, one person swims across the lake, tags the next person who runs around the lake and tags one member of the two man canoe leg of the event, those two launch the canoe and with out paddles must go around the buoys and back. So the troop had their swimmer, but three boys pushed their handicapped team member in his wheelchair/jogging type stroller around the lake and then let two others take the canoe leg. They lost the race but won all my our respect. The smile on the face of that boy was the best part of the week.

New Color, new ribbon!

The card base is the new In Color Island Indigo layered onto that is Whisper White, Melon Mambo, then another Island Indigo.
The top layer was ran through the Big Shot with a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called Designer Frames. A set of two folders, one this oval and one that is a rectangle.
I punched two holes at the top and threaded the new Polka Dotted ribbon in Melon Mamba through them.
I colored the stamp from the Hostess Set Happiest Birthday Wishes with Island Indigo and Melon Mambo and stamped it on Whisper White then punched it with the Wide Oval punch. The punched out piece fits perfectly in the embossed frame.

A fast and easy card!

Zoo Review

Zoo Review makes a great masculine card!

The card base is Crumb Cake cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded in half with 1/2" from the front. A 1" x 5 1/2" piece of Well Worn DSP was added to the inside of the card! (This is my favorite DSP).
The lion was stamped on Watercolor paper with Stazon and colored with Watercoclor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter.
The image was layered onto Cajun Craze and then Not Quite Navy.

Elebration

I fell in love with this little stamp when I first saw it in the A la Carte section of the new catalog and it was first on my order, This card uses many "new" items and was fun to make.

The card base is Baja Breeze cut at 4 1/4" x 11" folded at 5 1/5" with 1/2" cut off the front. I ran the front through the Big Shot with the new Stripes folder. Add a 1" strip of striped DSP from Just Add Cake to the inside edge of card so that it peeks out when closed.
Elebration is stamped with Stazon onto Watercolor paper and colored with Ink and an Aqua Painter. I pulled my colors from the DSP; the elephant is Baja Breeze with Blushing Bride ears , the balloon is Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade, the cake is a mix of Peach Parfait and Blushing Bride with Wild Wasabi scallops and Poppy Parade candle and plate, the grounding shadow is River Rock.
I stamped the hip hip hooray from the Hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes in Poppy Parade right onto the Watercolor paper.
I layered the image onto Island Indigo (new In color) and then on Peach Parfait, then placed it on the card base.
Last I added new ruffled ribbon in Island Indigo.

I did get several cards made this week so I should be able to post some even though I will be back at Scout Camp. There is 4 more weeks to go and then it will be over until next year. I hope that you all have a wonderful week end! It is my youngest's Birthday today, he is turning 15, so we will be partying tonight!

I thought this was a fun birthday card, It uses one stamp set and the Cupcake Builder punch.

The card base is Whisper White with a front of Pretty in Pink that I ran through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.
I ran a scrap of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Manhattan Flower folder, I then punched it with the Cupcake Builder Punch, that way I had swirls for the frosting
I ran Cherry Cobbler CS through the Crimper and then punched it out so that the cupcake wrapper was pleated, and Finally the Cherry is Poppy Parade CS that has Crystal Effects on it.
The Cupcake was popped up on a Pretty in Pink oval using Dimensionals.
The oval was placed on a rectangle of Whisper White that had Happy Birthday stamped in Cherry Cobbler at the bottom, the Whisper White was mounted onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler CS and then was added to the card front.

My order from the new catalog should arrive tomorrow, I can't wait!

Week 1 at Scout camp

I survived another week at Scout camp! I met the most interesting young Scout this week, he was blind but he didn't let that stop him from doing anything that any of the seeing Scouts were doing. My oldest boy worked on the archery range, he was impressed with this boy, he earned the Archery merit badge. The staff would point him at a target, tell him how far away it was, he would shoot, the staff would tell him how far off he was and he would make the adjustments. I help this scout at the Trading post and enjoyed his sunny out look on life.

Sorry that I am not sharing a card this week, for some reason I can't open my pictures.

Strength and Hope

Well I survived my first week at Scout camp and have new respect for all those who have or are working at Scout camps! I made another card with the Strength and Hope stamp set.

The card base is Whisper White cut at 4 1/4" x 11"
The front is from two different packages of DSP, the Melon Mambo is from the Brights stack and the Marina Mist is from the Paisley Petals DSP.
A strip of Melon Mambo CS was punched on two sides with the Pinking Hearts Border punch and a strip of Whisper White CS punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch.
I stamped the H hope on Whisper White the H is Melon Mambo and hope with Marina Mist. I punched it out with the Postage Stamp punch and layered it onto a square of Marina Mist. It is popped up with Dimensionals.
On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the butterfly with Versamark and then added the new Melon Mambo Embossing powder and heated it with the Heat Gun. I stamped the butterfly a second time with Stazon onto the DSP. I cut the butterfly out and added it over the second butterfly. The last thing I did was add the Rhinestone to the butterfly.

So I will be back from Scout camp in a week and will add another card then. So I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

On the Grow with Swirls and Curls Verses

Here is a card using two stamp sets from the Summer Mini catalog
The image is from On the Grow. The phrase is from the Hostess set called Swirls and Curls Verses.

The card base is Pacific Point
On the Whisper White I stamped Thinking of you in Melon Mambo, then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and added it to the card base.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Stazon. I colored the flowers Melon Mambo and the leaves Pear Pizzazz. The Jar is Pacific Point and the shadow is Tempting Turquoise. I used markers and an Aqua Painter.
The image is layered onto Melon Mambo then onto Pacific Point and then it was added to the card front.

SO for the summer my posts will not be as often, I have taken a job at a nearby Boy Scout Camp and will be working for the next two months, I will be back on week ends and checking my emails each night so I will try to keep everyone up to date.

Love is in the air!

It is Wedding season and these are my first wedding gifts. The first picture is the rose I used instead of a bow:

I used Very Vanilla CS for the rose, I sprayed the CS with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray and after punching the ornaments out I sponged the edges with Soft Suede and then resprayed them.
The leaves are Ornaments punched from Old Olive and then folded in half and then ran it through the crimper.
The package is tied with gold netting and the rose was then added.

the card:

Card base is Very Vanilla with a 4" x 5 1/8" Soft Suede CS sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray.
I sprayed a 3 3/4" x 5" Very Vanilla CS Champagne Shimmer Paint spray. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Elegant Line folder. I then added it to the card front.
I stamped the phrase from Occasional Quotes in Soft Suede onto the front of the card.
I added all three sizes of Pearl Jewels to the Elegant Lines.

Fairly easy projects and I thought they coordinated well together.

The little game is made with the Treat Cups and BB's (stole them from my son) The monkey was stamped onto Whisper White that I punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I also punched 2 more circles and layered all three on top of each other. I then punched 4 holes with the crop a dile into the circle. This was then layered onto the largest Circle punch. The BB's were place in each hole and the Treat Cup was added over it. A 1 3/4" circle was punch into CS with the large Scallop Circle punched around it. This covered up the edges of the Treat Cup.

So for a cute childs birthday ensumble this is a great one to make.

Paper Roses

These roses are made from card stock and the owl punch, the scallop circle punch or the Fancy Flower punch. The roses have a coating or two of Crystal Effects.

The two roses that you can see on the box are the Fancy Flower Roses(the one in the back is the owl rose)

This card can be made at the 2nd and 4th Tuesday Open stamping.

The card base is Whisper White with a 4" x 5 1/4" Pretty in Pink front and then a background layer.
For my background paper I used glossy White and with crumpled plastic wrap I dabbed both Frost and Champagne Shimmer paint on it.
The bells are Round Tab punch, punched from the Glossy White, Brushed Silver and Pretty in Pink and layered with the pearl jewels added for decoration.
I ran Pretty in Pink through the Big Shot with the sizzlit Swirls and Scribbles the bells were added on top of these. I bow of the Organza ribbon was added to the top of the bells.
Mr. and Mrs. is from All Holidays and was stamped on the Glossy White with Basic Gray and punched out with the smallest oval punch it was layered onto a Pretty in Pink label that is on the Match Box die.

Pretty Postage

The new summer mini has a cool new punch! The Postage Stamp punch, there is even a stamp set that coordinates with the punch.

The card base is Pear Pizzazz with a front of Rich Razzleberry that was run through the big shot with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.
The image from the Pretty Postage is of raspberries, I colored the stamp with the Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry markers and stamped it onto Whisper White and punched it out with the new Postage Stamp punch.
The image was layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry punched with the Square Scallop. It was then layered onto Basic Black that was ran through the Big Shot with Scallop Rectangle Clearlit with a narrow Taffeta ribbon in Rich Razzleberry tied around it.
The layered image was added to a square of Pear Pizzazz that was ran through the Big Shot with the Finial Press folder then was layered onto a piece of Basic Black.
The square was added to the card front.

Simple- Sail Away

I want to share a simple and fast card using Sail Away from the Summer Mini

The card base is Not Quite Navy with a front of DSP Nautical Expedition(also in the Summer Mini).
For the image I used Whisper White. I inked up Block size D with Marina Mist ink and pressed the block to the paper. I inked up the boat in Not Quite Navy and stamped it in the block outline. The image was layered onto Cherry Cobbler CS and added to the front.
The Happy Birthday is from Create a Cupcake(here's hoping it is in the New catalog) stamped on Whisper White with NQN, punched with the Word Window and layered onto a Cherry Cobbler Modern Label, then it was popped up with Dimensionals and added to the front.

A fast and easy card!

Happy Mother's Day!

Three cards for Mother's Day, today. the first two are from my Mother's Day Class, we watercolored in two of the classes but for the third class (a class with tweenagers) we did straight stamping.
So for the first two cards:

The bases of the cards are Confetti White, layered with Bravo Burgundy, then Confetti White, then Blushing Bride from the Level one hostess gifts.
Card #1 two of the images from Fifth Avenue Floral was stamped on Confetti White using Cherry Cobbler and Pretty in Pink in the lower right corner.
Wonderful Mother from the retired set (I used this set even tho it is retired, since I was doing the class with kids that were not going to be ordering I felt safe using it) Well Scripted was stamped on Confetti White with Rose Red, then punched with the Wide Oval punch, layered onto a Bravo Burgundy frame cut with the sizzlit Lots of Tags, a butterfly in Blushing Bride cut with the embosslit Beautiful Wings was added as well. This was popped up with Dimensionals.
The image was layered onto Bravo Burgundy that was layered onto Very Vanilla that had the top and bottom side punched with the Pinking Hearts punch.This was then was added to the layered base.
Card #2 The same images were stamped on Watercolor paper with Stazon, two were restamped on scraps of Watercolor paper. The rose is pretty in Pink- shading was Regal Rose. The Lily is Pink Pirouette with shading of Blushing Bride, stamens were colored Cherry Cobbler. The Daisy type flowers were colored with Cherry Cobbler shading was Bravo Burgundy. The rose and one daisy type flower were cut out and popped up with Dimensionals.
The phrase is from All Holidays and was stamped in Rose Red.
This card was finished the same as the first card.

The last card was an experiment. I made the back ground paper and stamped on ribbon and it was laying on my desk so this was what I did with them.

Card base is Pretty in Pink with a front of Basic Black CS with one side punched with the pinking hearts punch, layered with Glossy White paper that was stippled with Frost and Champagne Shimmer paint.
The stamped P in P ribbon was taped down to the left side.
Thanks for Caring was used the butterfly is Pink Pirouette with the phrase stamped over it with Stazon on Whisper White punched with the 1 3/4" circle layered onto a scallop circle of P in P.

Faux Leather Cards

The first card is the card that we made for club this month (we are taking a break for the summer, next club will be September) then second card I made as an example. The Faux Leather oval started as the same size as the oval that mats it, it shrinks that much when you heat them.

To do the Faux Leather you need to start with Fun Foam (go ahead and swipe a piece from the kids). Using the stamp of your choice ink if in Early Espresso Ink, leave it sitting on the ink pad while you heat the Fun Foam with you heat gun, heat it until it gets very soft and the edges start to curl up. Quickly stamp your inked image onto the Fun Foam pressing lightly (if you press to hard you will get the outline of your stamp imbedded as well, if that happens turn the Fun Foam over and heat and stamp again)

Wolf Card

• The card base is Confetti White with a front of Early Espresso that was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder

• The Faux Leather Wolf head was added to a 2 ½" circle of Confetti White and the phrase was stamped in Cherry Cobbler onto Confetti White,

• Linen thread was tied around the card base and feathers with retired SU beads threaded onto the ends, was tied to the thread.

Sail Boat

• The Card Base is Confetti White with a front of Early Espresso

• A piece of Not Quite Navy with a Marina Mist Oval and a Modern Label was ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder

• The sail boat was layered onto the embedded oval and a piece of Bakers twine was tied around the card front.

• Happy Birthday was stamped in Early Espresso and stamped on Confetti White and punched with the Word Window

Word Play- Graduation

Without a Graduation specific stamp set I had to look at the sets that we have and decide what would work for a Graduation themed card. I chose a stamp from "Word Play" but there are others that would work as well. How about using, It takes Courage to grow up and become who you Really are. From "Hope Happens" or Life is uncharted territory. It reveals its story one moment at a time. From "Uncharted Territory" or from the new Summer Mini how about using the Way to go Congrats Well Done stamp from "Happy Greetings" Is there any others that you can think of? If so leave me a comment and let me know what they are OK?

Here is the card recipe:

• The card base is Whisper White with a front of Night of Navy that I ran through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips folder.
• I stamped the phrase in Bashful Blue and then used the Night of Navy marker to color some of the words darker (the 2 blues are our school colors). On a piece of Whisper White that I cut to fit just inside the embossed area.

• The hat is a 1 ¼" square of Night of Navy with a standard hole punch for the button. I made a simple tassel with White crochet thread.

The card really was simple and fast.

Most of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another, if we haven't had it ourselves, we have a loved one or friend that has. In the summer mini that starts on May 1 and runs until the end of August, Stamping' UP! is teaming up with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with the Strength and Hope stamp set. I am holding a class to support this effort.

This class is supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation cost of class includes the stamp set. Wonderful Favorites- Vintage Vogue

This is the card we made in our Hostess Club this month. The card is a Joy Fold card- go here if you want general directions http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/joy_fold_card/

The card bases are Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso.
For the DSP panels on my card I used the Very Vanilla from the pad of Neutrals, On the larger piece of DSP I stamped the rose image from Elements of Style with Pretty in Pink. The smaller panel was stamped with Early Espresso using the leaf and swirls image from Vintage Vogue.
The large Vintage Vogue flower is Pretty in Pink with an Espresso glimmer brad, two of the smaller flowers are Regal Rose and one is Pretty in Pink, rock and rolled in Regal Rose the centers are the Pearl Jewels. These are all cut out and have a Dimensional on the backs of them.
The center panel is Very Vanilla CS that I have stamped the leaf and swirls with Old Olive and the small flowers with Early Espresso in the lower corner. Wonderful Mother is stamped with Early Espresso (used the Stamp a ma Jig). The cut out flowers were then added and a piece of Early Espresso ribbon was added.

The top card

Card base is Baja Breeze with a front of Whisper White that was ran through the Big Shot with the Finial Press folder.
The Top Note Die was used cut a piece of Not Quite Navy and then it was ran through with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.
The oval was cut with the Ovals die and then stamp with the phrase using NQN ink. It is popped up with Dimensionals.

The bottom card

The card base and all the layers are Whisper White.
Layer one was ran through the Big Shout with the Square Lattice folder.
Layer two was ran through with the Vintage Wallpaper folder and the corners were punched with the Ticket Corner punch.
The oval was cut the same as in the top card but was sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint spray and stamped with Marina Mist.
Pearl Jewels were used at the corners that were punched out.

Another Selection from my Open Stampin' Tuesdays.

The card base is Naturals White with a piece of Not Quite Navy at the top with a narrow band of More Mustard set with a black brad at each end.
The lighthouse was stamped with stazon onto a piece of Naturals White CS. It has a simple wash of colors using ink and an Aqua Painter.
The image is layered onto a piece of More Mustard and then on Riding Hood Red.
The Happy Father's Day is stamped in Riding Hood Red on a piece of Naturals White and punched with the Decorative Label punch, it was layered onto a punched RHR and then attached behind the image.
The final step is attaching the image to the card base.

So if ypu want to make this card, everything is cut and ready to go, just stop in on Tuesday the 26th.

Fathers Day Memory Book and Card class- May 18^th Wednesday

Come make a memory book and a Father's Day card. The book can hold the special messages for dad, "do for you" coupons, or photos. Please bring your favorite adhesive or add $5 to the class payment and I will order you your own snail adhesive. Class times will be at 11 am and 6:30 p.m. please indicate time preference when paying for class. Cost for the class is $18 if prepaid by May 11^th and $22 after that date, cut off to register is May 15^th.

Afterthoughts- embedded embossing.

I love the Square Lattice folder and embedded embossing is one of the reasons why.

The card base is Whisper White with a front of Early Espresso CS.
Using all of my circle punches I punch from Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Marina Mist.
Using markers I colored each line in the birthday phrase from After thoughts. I started with Marina Mist then Soft Suede and last Early Espresso, I stamped it on Whisper White and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle.
On a piece of Whisper White CS I randomly laid out my circles adhering some of them overlapping each other. I added my punched out phrase and then placed it into the Square Lattice folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
Using the cupcake from Itty Bitty Bits I color it with Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Poppy Parade markers. I places the image into a Build-a-brad and attached to the embedded embossed piece. Finally adding it to the card base.

This card was made for the Tuesday open stamping at my house every 2nd and 4th Tuesday.

Card base is Confetti White
The image was stamped on a piece of Confetti White, using Concord Crush and Old Olive markers directly on the stamp.
The image was layered onto a piece on Concord Crush CS and then onto the card base.
With love ans caring was stamped onto a scrap of Confetti White with Crushed Concord and then punched out with the Designer Label punch. and framed with some Hodgepaodge Hardware.

Remember all the CS in the Open Tuesday Selection is cut and ready for you to stamp and put together. There are always between 8 to 12 cards to choose from, so come on over tomorrow and stamp with me.
