WCC25

I was in charge of coming up with this weeks challenge, with Father's Day coming up I wanted something that could work for masculine cards if needed. I went with a photo inspiration. Here is the photo I challenged the Watercooler Artists with.
There are so many things that I could take from the photo, water, feathers, fowl, or colors. The Stampin' Up colors I see are, Crumb Cake, Tangelo Twist, So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar(retired), Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Handsome Hunter(retired), Very Vanilla, Island Indigo, Basic Gray & Elegant Eggplant.  Did I miss any colors?

I went with colors and water.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Cajun Craze, Island Indigo & Watercolor Paper
Ink: Island Indigo, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron and Stazon
Misc: Aqua Painter

When watercoloring with Mossy Meadow the colors separate and make for an interesting combination- greens and brown, all of my grassy area was colored with only Mossy Meadow.

So look at the photo and see what it inspires you to do and then share your project with us on our home site(where you can see what the Watercoolor Artists were inspired to make). http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/

Under construction

I am in the process of moving my craft room, so little crafting is going on. The new room in painted but every crafting supply I own is stacked in three different rooms while I get the move done.

Here are my sons friend as well as my two sons moving my desk to the new room

My desk is 15 feet of counter with a 6' x  4' desk jutting out from it. it is made from Alder. It comes apart in 6 pieces with the heaviest pieces taking 4 people to carry.  On of my youngest sons friends works for the company that built my desk so he was able to get the move done and the desk back together. I'll post photos of my room once it is finished.

Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

We are hopping again and feeling the "Retirement Blues!

Our Blog Hop runs in a circular fashion.  No matter where in the list of participants you begin, you'll wind up in the exact same place again if you keep going to the "next" blog.  It works the same way whether you do the usual forward movement through the blog posts or if you work your way through in reverse order

If you arrived here from Gail's blog, welcome! Isn't it fun to see what each of us will miss? Remember you only have about 2 weeks left to get any of the stamp sets that on the retirement list. If you don't have a demonstrator already I'm happy to help you with your order.

First up
I used two retiring stamp sets Pleasant Poppies & Blooming With Kindness, I love sentiments with mixed fonts! The card stock is Whisper White & Calypso Coral, the ink is Memento and Calypso Coral, the card stock and ink are not retiring.

Next
Love & Sympathy is one of my favorite set, one that will be staying in my collection long after its retirement. The card stock and ink are staying. I used Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz for the greens and Wisteria Wonder. I stamped on Shimmery White and used Very Vanilla for my base.

And last.
We are saying good bye to the 2013-2015 in colors, I used 4 of the 5 colors on this card. We are also saying good bye to all of the host sets. I used "Let Your Hair Down"

Card stock is Whisper White, Strawberry Slush & Coastal Cabana, the inks are Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana & Strawberry Slush. Also retiring are the Shaker Frames, the In color Sequins  & the On Film Framelits

Those are a few of the things we are saying good bye to, if you continue on Christine will show you some of the things she will miss.

House Update :)

I thought I'd share they photos of our laundry room redo. My before picture got deleted before I got it downloaded, so the first photo is an "in progress" photo.
This is the closest "before" picture, the hideous wallpaper was partially torn off. We had to stack the washer and dryer so that the clothes hamper could fit in the room instead of sitting in the hallway.

My son used a battle ax to tear down the wall between the hall and the laundry room(the open door is the the end of the hall going into the garage).

Dry wall down, the wiring was moved before the studs came down, we had wires come down from the attic as well as up from the basement going to 5 switches we also added an additional outlet.

We found a lower cabinet at the Habitat for Humanity Restore and painted it and the upper cupboard to match each other.

My husband taught my son to cut the slate tile, then he installed it.

My husband watched a YouTube video then made a counter top.

We added a sink(every builder should know that they are important to have in a laundry room). The white subway tiles came from the Restore but we had to buy the glass tiles from Home Depot that are between them.

So  new paint on the wall a hall way that now ends with a door going to the laundry and through the laundry is the door to the garage. My laundry room is twice the size it was and looks good too!

Next up will be my craftroom we are moving it to the basements basement. (My house is 1 story from the front and 3 from the back, all walk out. My current craft room is in the first level basement and has no windows, the new one will have a window overlooking my waterfall and pond as well as french doors to the out side.  It will have a built in 15 foot desk. Some lucky crafter will get it when we put the house up for sale.

Cards will be posting again tomorrow.
