The Wacky Watercooler First Anniversary Blog Hop

We are celebrating our first anniversary hop! You may have hopped here from Priscilla's blog or this may be your first stop, we are a linked circle so keep following the links until you get back to your starting blog. We will be sharing ideas from the annual catalog and current specials.

My first project highlight Back to Black DSP and Blendibilities
I used the lightest and the medium color in the Coastal Cabana Blendibilities co color the Back to Black DSP to make an interlocking gate fold card.
Stamps: Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer stamp set
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Coastal Cabana, Mocha, Daffodil Delight Blendibilites
Paper: Whisper White and Hello Honey Card Stack, Back to Black DSP.
Misc: Deco Label Framelit

Next I made two cards with the same stamp set but colored the one on the left with Blendibilities and the one on the right with Ink and Aqua Painters.
Stamps: Corner Garden
Ink: Left Card- Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Mocha and Rich Razzleberry Blendibilities
Right Card- Jet Black Stazon, Coastal Cabana, Olld Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry Ink
Paper: Left Card- Coastal Cabana, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White Card Stock
Right Card- Coastal Cabana and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and Watercolor Paper

I haven't decided yet what greeting to add to these cards, so I will be waiting for an occasion when I need a card and add a sentiment then.

I hope you enjoyed my project and that they gave you some ideas for your own projects. Remember that for July you get a free package of DSP when you buy three.
The first half of the Blendibilities are now available.

Your next stop on the hop is Stefanie's Blog. So hop on over and see what she has to share.

  4. Wow, Kathe - love what you did with the Back to Black DSP. I keep looking at it in the cattie and wondering if it is too strong to use as a background. Now, you've shown me another option. Also love the Corner Garden.

  6. Oh my, Kath! You've outdone yourself! What a clever idea, to colour in the Back to Black DSP! It never occurred to me that it would change character so beautifully with colour and now you have me wanting to buy some. *sigh* I hadn't planned on it. I'm so glad you shared the "identical" cards, too. It really shows how well the Blendabilities create depth and shading. I like them both but probably like the one done with the Blendabilities a bit more. You've been with the hop from the beginning and I'm so glad you're part of the 1st Anniversary Blog Hop as well. Thanks so much for sharing.

  7. Wow, wow, wow. Your coloring is amazing. The Corner Garden is absolutely gorgeous.
As Heidi said "clever idea" coloring in the Back to Black.
It's 6:30 AM and I want to get out to my craft room and try this. It may be the answer to one of my projects.

  9. Like all the other commentors before me, I'm totally impressed with the colouring on the DSP. It's almost a Zentangle moment! The Corner Garden is stunning and I loved seeing both techniques side by side......they're both equally beautiful. TFS. Happy 1 Yr Anniversary - great blog hop site.

  10. Hi, Kath! Sorry I'm so late to the comments party, and thanks for your comments at my stop :) I love the colored-in dsp - I've seen it before (and always forget to try it) but using the Blendabilities for coloring is brilliant! showing the two Corner Garden card side-by-side was also brilliant, I can see now why I'd want Blendabilities (assuming I could color) but each card has its own charm.
