Postage Due

A couple of the ladies that come over to stamped came the other day. They made this card.
The directions for the card layers are in this post.

  • The base and stamped layers are Very Vanilla.
  • The mats are Not Quite Navy.
  • The colors of ink used are: Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy and More Mustard.
  • The sentiments are laying on the cards not yet attached the are from Petite Pairs and fit in the 1" Square Punch that layers onto the Postage Stamp Punch. I think I will sponge the edges when I decide what phrase to use.
These cards are fun to make.

Big Shot Ornaments

With the Ornament on the cover of the Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog these have become the rage. I am doing two class on request from that cover.  These I made just for fun. No stamping involved.
I really think a tree done in these colors would be fun! As you can see I love Champagne Shimmer Paint spray with Early Espresso! I also love the new Champagne Glimmer Paper. I used the Naturals DSP Stack as well as the Naturals Composition Specialty DSP. I used a sharpie to color the Pearls copper.
Supplies Used:
Holiday Ornaments Framelits
Delicate Doilies Sizzlits
Designer Rosette Bigs Die
Circle Treat Cups
Large Pearls
Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons
Early Espresso Bakers Twine
The DSP stated above
Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ribbon
Feathers
Champagne Shimmer Paint spray
Early Espresso CS
Scalloped Tulle Ribbon

I think the ornament made with the Framelits would make a great package topper!

Clockworks

Sometimes I see a stamp set in the catalog and I think I really need it (in this case my son Ryan loves steampunk and pocket watches) but when I get the set in hand I have a hard time figuring out what to do with it.  This card was hard for me and looking at it, it shouldn't have been.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla with a front of Early Espresso that was sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray.
  • On a piece of 5" x 3 3/4" Very Vanilla I stamped the two splotchy grid like images from Clockworks in Sahara Sand and the other in Crumb Cake.
  • With Versamark I randomly stamped the gears and heat embossed the with Gold Embossing Powder.
  • On a scrap of Glossy White Paper I stamped the watch face with Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso Embossing Powder and the stamped the hands and embossed the with Gold. I punched it out with a Circle Punch.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla I stamped the pocket watch with Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I hand cut it out and added the watch face to it.
  • Te pocket watch was popped up with Dimensionals on the card,
  • The thank you was heat embossed in Early Espresso and is from Itty Bitty Banners and cut out with the Itty Bitty Banner Framelit. It is popped up with Dimensionals.
There you have it

Great Sport

I hope you enjoyed our blog hop, we will be doing another in early October highlighting Autumn and Thanksgiving.

Today's card was intended to be a masculine card but I decided it could be for anyone.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla with a front of Early Espresso sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray then layered with a piece of DSP from Natural Composition Specialty package
  • One a piece of Very Vanilla CS I stamped the image from Great Sport with Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing powder. I ran it through the Big Shot cutting it with the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso Ink and then sprayed it with Champagne Shimmer Paint spray then I adhered it to the front of the card.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS I stamped the phrase from Field Flowers with Versamark and heat embossed it with Early Espresso Embossing powder. I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch it was also sprayed with Shimmer Spray.  It was then popped up with Dimensionals on the card front.
So what do you think is it a card for a man, women or either?

Fall-i-Days Halloween Blog Hop

Yes we are hopping again! We officially start today at 7 pm Mountain.  I missed out on our last hop because I was still working at Scout camp, so I am happy I can hop this time!  If while hopping we have any broken links you can find us here

You may have come from my friend Buffy's blog she is amazing person and a little intimidating to follow.

My first card is an Autumn triple layer card using French Foliage, Layered Labels and Apothecary Arts Framelits. This was stamped and layered the same way as this post. The colors are, Riding Hood Red, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake and Pool Party,
I don't send many Halloween cards but I never can resist making some every year, I posted one earlier. This card uses Bootiful Occasions and Labels Collection Framelits  and DSP from Polka Dot Parade and In Color Stack. Colors Used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.
I designed Frankie for my upcoming Halloween class, I think he is cute!  I used Fancy Favors Bigz Die and Old Olive and Basic Black CS. See the cute bolt on the side? 1" circle popped up on two Dimensionals with the sides colored with a silver sharpie!
I hope you enjoyed my projects and continue hopping to Jackie's Blog.

CASEing Pintrest

I tried photographing this card a couple of times but could not get a good picture of it. I saw a card on Pintrest that was a one layer card the butterflies on it were not Stampin' UP!.

  • The card base is Naturals White.
  • I used a butterfly from Nature Walk and one from Papillon Potpourri. I stamped them along the right edge using Pool Party, Midnight Muse and Lucky Limeade inks.
  • The phrase is from Blooming with Kindness, stamped with Midnight Muse.

Postage Due- a CASE

CASEing is something I do on occasion sometimes, like after a summer of not being able to stamp I find stamping hard to do. So the next few cards I blog will be cards I CASEd while waiting for my mojo to come back. One of my favorite people I go to for inspiration is Leeann at Wee Inklings so that is where I went.
The card I CASEd is here.

  • The card base is Crumb Cake. I inked up the stamp from Postage Due with Crumb Cake and stamped it twice on the base.
  • I went to my scraps and pull two pieces from the DSP Fan Fair. I found a piece of Riding Hood Red that had be embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder and I narrow strip of Island Indigo that had been embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. So those two pieces of CS along with a piece of DSP (the map) from Fan Fair were layered on the left side of the card covering where there wasn't any ink.
  • I stamped the postage stamp images from the same set in More Mustard, Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red and punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The More Mustard stamps are adhered directly to the front while the other three are popped up with Dimensionals.
This is another card I left without a sentiment.  So there you are, one of the cards I CASEd waiting for my mojo to return.

Remember I am giving away blog candy so check the top of the page for details.

Forever with You

Yes, I tried a triple layered card, I have done the same technique many times as a double layer, but this was the first triple. The cards are easy to make and for me the only down side is they use a lot of paper, so while I'd do it in a club setting it won't be a card in my Card Buffet(see class tab).

  • The card base is Very Vanilla CS, I cut two additional pieces of Very Vanilla CS, on at 3 3/4" x 5" and one that was 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • I cut two pieces of Early Espresso CS 1/4" larger both directions the the Very Vanilla CS pieces.
  • I center each piece of Very Vanilla on top of each other holding them in place with temporary tape.
  • I stamped the vines from Forever with You in Crumb Cake ink and randomly stamped it on the stack of CS. I then stamped a flower from Fabulous Florets in Early Espresso ink, again randomly across the stacked of CS.
  • I un-taped the layers of CS and re- layered with Snail, Each piece of Very Vanilla onto a piece of Early Espresso. Layering it onto a larger mat hides where the ink misses as it stamps from one layer to another.
  • On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS I stamped the phrase from Forever with You in Versamark and heat embossed it with Early Espresso. I cut it out with the corresponding Window Frame Collection Framelit using the Big Shot. I popped it up with Dimensionals in the center of the card.
Remember to comment if you want entered into the blog candy drawing.

Fabulous Florets

So have you heard of the September Special?

During September, get a FREE spool of 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon with every
$40 purchase. Choose from any of our 2012-2014 In Colors—or earn all five!

Several of my customers have asked for cards designed without any phrase added to them, this is one of those cards.  It would be very easy to add a banner with a phrase relating to any occasion you wanted a card for.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla CS with a front of Raspberry Ripple that was run through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan Folder.
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla CS cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" I stamped the leaves from Fabulous Florets with Lucky Limeade.
  • On a Scrap of Watercolor Paper I stamped the largest leaf with Lucky Limeade I added more color with Old Olive Ink and an Aqua Painter, after it dried I cut it out and popped it up with Dimensioals over the same leaf in the design.
  • On another scrap of Watercolor Paper I stamp the smallest flower from the set with Stazon, I colored it with Ink and an Aqua Painter and after it died I cut it out and popped it up With Dimensionals overlapping the popped up leaf.
There you have it a card without a phrase.
