Countryside- Father's Day

I love texture!

  • The card base is Naturals White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
  • I cut a piece of Watercolor Paper with a Label Framelit then stamped the image from Countryside with Stazon on it I colored it with ink and an Aqua Painter.
  • The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, I stamped with Not Quite Navy  on a scrap of Naturals White the cut it with a new Framelit called Bitty Banners Framelits (available at noon tomorrow). I used the Bone Folder to break the fibers in the paper to give it some curl, then sponged the edges with Not Quite Navy.
  • I layered the image on a piece of Well Worn DSP cut a size larger the the image.
Simple but I like it, hope that you do too.

Just Believe

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Weekend!  This is going to be a crazy busy week for me, starting on Friday I will be starting another summer of work at a Boy Scout Camp. I finish my last class before summer today.
Some how I missed posting the card we made in Mays Hostess Club. The technique we did was Faux Tile also called Grid Technique.

  • Card base is Naturals White with a Front of Daffodil Delight that was ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
  • here is a link to the tutorial , After scoring a piece of Very Vanilla CS we colored the stamp from Just Believe with markers and stamped it over the grid. We layered it onto a piece of Lucky Limeade then knotted a piece of Daffodil Delight Seam Binding(new in the catalog that starts June 1st) around it and layered it onto a piece of More Mustard. The matted image was added to the card front.
  • The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was stamped in Lucky Limeade onto Very Vanilla and punched with the Word Window Punch. it was layered onto a piece of Lucky Limeade punced with the Modern Label Punch. We punched and added two circles behind the phrase, a 1 1/4" More Mustard and a 1 3/8" Old Olive. This was added to the card base last.
We will be starting a new Hostess Club in September and have room for more so if you are interested in joining let me know.

  • I stamped the images on Watercolor paper with Stazon then punched one with the 2 1/2" circle and cut one with the Label Framelit.  I colored the images the same using markers and an Aqua Painter. The three new colors I used are Raspberry Ripple (love it!) for the bow, Primrose Petals for the flowers and Gumball Green for the Leaves.
  • The card on the right is layered on Raspberry Ripple and the one on the left is on Primrose Petals.

Hedgehog Happiness and sneak peek of two New In Colors

As some of you know my children breed Hedgehogs between two of my kids they have three female hedgehogs, we are looking for an unrelated male so that we don't have to pay stud fees anymore.  One of my good friends sent me the retired hedgehog stamp sets, they are so cute!  Anyway I have played with a few of the images so you will see them here from time to time.

  • The card base is one of the new In Colors, Summer Starfruit, that will be available on June 1st. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Hounds-tooth Embossing Folder.
  • I stamped the Hedgehog onto Watercolor paper with Stazon I colored it with markers and an Aqua Painter.  The balloon is another of the new In Colors called Midnight Muse.
  • I used the Curly Label Punch to punch the top corners of the image as well as the Midnight Muse CS that it is layered on.  I added it to the card base and was done.
I think it makes a cute birthday card and I am really loving the Midnight Muse!

Farm Fever

When I hold Card Buffets I like to include both current stamp sets as well as well loved retired sets. I clearly mark my retired sets so that stampers know what sets they can still buy and what sets they can not. This is one of May/Junes "retired set" cards.

  • Card base is Pink Pirouette with a front of Beau Chateau DSP, I rounded the corners on both the base and the front.
  • I used two Framelits that will be available on June 1st, with one I cut Pink Pirouette CS and the other I cut a piece of Whisper White CS and Soft Suede CS
  • On the Whisper White I stamped the image with Stazon and then colored it with ink and a blender pen. I cut the Soft Suede CS in half and layered it behind the image.
The outside says Udderly Exhausted? the inside has a bee and says Hope You're Buzzing around soon.  So if you still own Farm Fever pull it out and stamp, if not come over to a Tuesday Card Buffet.

Angry Bird Gift Bag

Here is the gift bag and treat that I made to go with my angry bird card.  I used a $.50 gift bag.

  •  I cut a half circle from a 5 1/3"x8 1/2" piece of Whisper White CS(I traced a bowl) and lined it up withe bottom front of the bag.
  • I free hand drew the beak on Pumpkin Pie CS and added a triangle of Whisper White to it
  •  The eyes were punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch with the bottoms repunched to give it cheeks. I used a 1/2" Basic Black circle for the eye balls.
  • The brow are tapered strips of Basic Black that start at 1/2" and taper down to 3/8".
There a matching gift bag or a party favor bag.  Thanks for stopping in!

Father's Day or Birthday

I made this card a couple of moths ago and forgot to post it. The two stamp sets I used were in the Occasions Mini and sadly they are no longer available. But if you bought these here is an idea.

  • The card base is Crumb Cake with a front of Well Worn DSP.
  • I ran a narrow strip( it was leftovers from a different project) through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I added it across the bottom third of the card.
  • I stamped the image from "Packed for Dad" in Cajun Craze on So Saffron CS I layered it onto a piece of Early Espresso and popped it up with Dimensionals.
  • On a scrap of Naturals White I stamped dad from "Loved One"s in Not Quite Navy and punched it with the Decorative Label punch.I attached it to the corner of my image with a Mini Library Clip.

a CASEd Angry Bird

I saw a similar card on Pintrest, sadly it had a broken link so I don't know who the creator was. I had already figured out most of the characters from the game but had decided how to use them. Then I saw the card!  Here is what I did.

  • The card base is Tempting Terquoise with a front of Daffodil Delight.
  • My punch art used the following punches for the charectors.
  • Black Bird:
  • (1) 1 3/8 Circle in Black
    (1/2) 1 3/8 Circle in Gray
    (2) 1/2 Circles in Gray
    (2) circles from the Bitty Punch Pack in White
    (1) circle from standard Circle punch
    (1) sm Heart in Pumpkin
    Red, Black and Saffron scraps
  • Red Bird:
  •  (1) 1 3/8 Circle in Red
  • (1/2) 1 3/8 Circle in White
  • (1) Boho Flower in Black
  • (1) Boho Flower in Red
  • (1) sm Heart in Saffron
  • (1) sm Heart in Black
  • (2) circles from the Bitty Punch Pack in White
  • Cut punch pieces according to the picture and assemble. Use your Black Marker for the eyes.
  • Pig:
  • (1) 1 3/8 Circle in Olive
  • (1) sm Oval in Olive
  • (2) Boho Flowers in Black
  • (2) Circles from the Bitty Punch Pack in White
  • (3) Circles from the Bitty Punch Pack in Olive
  • Blue Bird:
  • (1) sm Oval
  • (2) circles from the Bitty Punch Pack
  • (1) sm Heart in Pumpkin
  • (1) Boho Flower in Turquoise
  • Black scraps
  • Make eyes with your Black Marker.
  • Yellow Bird:
  • (1)    Full Heart in Saffron
  • (1/2) Wide Oval
  • (1) Boho Flower in Black
  • (1) sm Heart in Pumpkin
  • (2) circles from the Bitty Punch Pack in White
  • Red Scraps
  • Cut punches according to the picture and assemble. Place white belly on top of heart punch and round the bottom with your Snips. Use you Black Marker to make eyes.
  • The base for the punch art is a 3"x3" piece of Whisper White CS that I ran through the Big Shot in the Starburst Folder(retired)
  • I layered it onto a piece of Old Olive and added two  1"x3 1/4" fringed pieces as grass.
  • I made the banner from a strip of Whisper White that has a phrase from the retiring Hostess Set "Happiest Birthday Wishes" I colored the stamp with markers before stamping it onto the banner.
  • So there is my card, I wish I knew who to give the layout credit to, sadly as fun as Pintrest is it often has broken links.
  • I have redone the bottom of this post 3 times now and it still is posting strange. Sorry

Word Play Graduation

So with University Graduations going on now and High Schools right around the corner I am making Graduation cards.

  • The card base is Whisper White.
  • Using three sizes of the Label Framelits I cut CS in Night of Navy, Marina Mist, and Whisper White, I ran the Night of Navy one through the Big Shot in the Starburst embossing folder. I layered the three  together and added them to the card front.
  • I used a phrase from Word Play for the card, I inked it in Marina Mist and then went over some of the words with the Night of Navy marker. I stamped it on the Whisper White Framelit.
  • I made a tassel with the White Bakers twine and used a 1 1/4" square and a small circle to make the cap.
So this card is done in my boys school colors, I have made the in the colors of the three local High Schools.

Elegant Thank You

I'm still trying to use up DSP so that I can start buying more when the new catalog starts on June 1st!
This is a fast and simple card with both the DSP and stamp retiring.

  • The card base is Whisper White with a front  from Mocha Morning Specialty  DSP.
  • I inked up the stamp with Versamark and stamped it on Whisper White CS that was sprayed with Frost Shimmer Paint spray, heat embossed it with a mixture of Black Embossing Powder and  Fine Galaxy(retiring) in black. I punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and popped it up with Dimensionals on a 2 1/2" circle os Basic Black that was sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint Spray.
So that is it, fast and simple but with that DSP and the shimmer and glitter it is very elegant in real life.

Happiest Birthday Wishes

Using up soon to retire DSP! I love the Well Worn DSP and I am going to miss it.

  • The card base is Cajun Craze with a front of Well Worn DSP with the edges distressed.
  • Using the Label Framelit I cut a piece of Marina Mist and the embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
  • I cut two flags from different pieces of Well Worn.
  • On Crumb Cake Using Not Quite Navy ink I stamped the image from Happiest Birthday Wishes twice. on the first one I punched the center circle out, then punched the whole circle out.  On the second one I punched the second second circle only. Using Dimensionals I stacked the circles on top of each other.
From looking at the card I think you can see how all the pieces went together, if you have any questions just let me know!

Kindness Matters

To me when I first saw this stamp set I thought that the butterflies should be blue... I can't seem to do a different color.
  • The card base is Sahara Sand I cut an opening with the second smallest Label Framelit(if you like these you will be excited for the new catalog in June). I also rounded the right corners of this card.
  • I cut a piece of Watercolor paper with the next larger Framelit. I stamped the three butterflies in the center of the paper with Stazon. On a small scrap of Watercolor paper I stamped just the center butterfly. I colored the butterflies Island Indigo.
  • I stamped Kindness Matters in the bottom right corner in Island Indigo.
  • I wrapped the matching ribbon around the card and knotted it. I stamped thanks so much from the Tiny Tags set and punched it out with the Jewelry Tag punch I punched an additional tag in Marina Mist and on in Not Quite Navy. I punched a small hole and threaded them onto Island Indigo Backers Twine. I colored a small Pearl with a teal Sharpie and added it to the tag.
So that's my latest Thank you card. . .
