CASEing from Ellen Kemper and a new Blog look

Ellen Kemper does amazing punch art, I did not have all of the punches she used on hers, so I made minor adjustments using what I have. My sons are now 13 and 15, these pictures are from the Halloween they were 4 months and 2 years old. For years Winnie Pooh and friends were a favorite of theirs for years. If you are interested in learning punch art I am having monthly classes, e-mail me for more information.

All New! Birthday Block

The new mini catalog that starts May 1st has 4 stamps sold as singles, they are $8.95 or less. This makes a simple card, in card #1 I used markers to color in the different colors. I used Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie CS on a base of Whisper White CS. The Ribbon is Melon Mambo and the Tag Punch and Tiny Tags from the Occasions Mini will be in the new catalog in July.
On card #2 I Used Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White CS. I used the Scallop Edge punch on the card front and on a piece of Basic Black that is attached on the inside of the card.

Seek the Higher Ground

Today's card was made by my son, Trevor, I wish the picture was better. The colors of card stock he used are Real Red and Basic Gray. He embossed the image from Extreme Skateboard with black embossing powder. He used a texture plate and the big shot to add texture to the background layer.
When I was a child my family and I lived in American Samoa, last year it was hit with a Tsunami, I had a friend who went with the Red Cross to give aid there. check out today's video. Seek the Higher Ground

Circle Circus

This is one of the stamp sets that Stampin' UP! gave me for being part of their focus group.
Every color on this card (except Whisper White) is retiring. Card base is Cameo Coral, card front Whisper White, Inks Taken with Teal, Cameo Coral and Green Galore. I masked my circles as I stamped so that they overlapped. The scallop circle was stamped twice on scrap CS, once in Taken with Teal and once with Cameo Coral, then punched out and layered with Dimensionals. The Thanks is from Thank You Kindly.

Just Baseball

My oldest daughter bought this stamp set, it had never seen ink. I just didn't find inspiration in it. Another demonstrator posted a card that is very similar on our demo site, I Cased the card from memory, and now can not find her card to give her credit.(there are 60,000 sample in the gallery on that site) Anyway, I am happy with the card and think that it is a great boy birthday card.

The base of the card is Not Quite Navy topped by Soft Suede and then Very Vanilla. On the Very Vanilla layer I inked up the background stamp Sanded with Creamy Carmel (soon to be retired), stamped off once and then stamped it on the Very Vanilla. I inked the baseball in Creamy Caramel, stamped off once and stamped over the sanded. On a scrap of Very Vanilla CS I stamped the hat in Not Quite Navy, the bat in Soft Suede and the ball full strength Creamy Caramel. I cut out the images and added Diemensionals to the backs of each of them. The phrase is from On Your Birthday stamped in NQN ink and matted on Soft Suede CS. The images were added over the phrase.

Spring Song

I love watercoloring this card is done with Markers and an Aqua Painter. The card stock is Regal Rose with a mat of Not Quite Navy. I black embossed the image on watercolor paper. The embossing gives the image a little shine. The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
This card is one that you can make on Tuedays in open studio stamping.

The-Boys-Home

It was a busy day yesterday! April 17th was Day of Difference in Scouts our Unit had 36 cubs through Venture scouts as well as leaders that spent 3 hours cleaning in our community. All across Utah every unit should have been doing the same, hopefully today our towns and cities will look a little bit better.

Happy Together

So my youngest daughter love quail! I bought this set because of her. I decided to make it a Mother's day card. I used Versamark on the card base of So Saffron to add the flower pattern. The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Sweet Pea pad and is in the Occasions Mini (ends at the end of the month).I matted everything with Taken with Teal(retires in June). The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes that has lots of stamps for just about every occasion.

Punch Art- Scrapbook- Elephant Car Wash

This is a 6"x6" page, the last two were 12"x12". A simple page, but I thought an elephant spraying water worked, it wasn't until I posted this that I realized I left his tail off, I need to go back and fix this ;). The Elephant will be another punch art in the on going punch art class start next week. comment or e-mail me if you are interested in the class.

Colors used: Real Red, Bordering Blue, Basic Gray and Vellum.

Punch Art- Scrapbook- Bath Time

This is a picture of one of my boys and his cousin when they were two years old. They love bubble bath and with a jetted tub there were lots of bubbles! Because of the glare in the picture (it is not on the original, just on the picture of the page) you can not see that my son was pale blond and my niece was a pretty little red head.

The punch art is easy to do and I got the tub idea of our demonstrator site, the bubbles are vellum. This piece of art will be part of the ongoing Punch Art Class I am starting, if you are interested in the class let me know.

Punch Art- Scrapbook- Farm

I have had requests to start an ongoing punch art class that could be used in card making or scrapbooking. So I've been searching the web for ideas, my kids have even help and two have created art that will be used in some of the classes.
This page of my sons kindergarten field trip has 4 different punch art pieces on it. I'm not sure who to give credit to, because I have found so many that are similar to each other. I've added this page to my sample board to show what can be done with what is learned in class.

Pocket Silhouettes

One more card using 1 1/4" watercolor paper squares. I did get the inspriration to make these cards from Stampin! with Jaydee. I used markers and an Aqua Painter for the backgrounds of these. I used Taken with Teal, Only Orange and Old Olive. I used black stazon for the Pocket Silhouettes as well as the phrase from On Your Birthday. All are mounted with Dimensionals on a Textured Basic Black CS.

Pocket Silhouettes and Vintage Vogue

I was going for the "art" look. The card base is Textured Basic Black. On a square of Watercolor paper I used Only Orange, Rich Razzleberry, and Tempting Turquoise markers for my back ground, starting at the top and working down, I scribbled the color and then used an Aqua Painter to move the color around, then moved on to the next color. After it dried I stamped the image from Pocket Silhouettes in Stazon and added it on top. The phrase is from Vintage Vogue, it says -You raise kindness to an art. I punched two holes in the top and ran Rich Razzleberry ribbon through.

Thank You

This is a very simple card but in real life it turned out very elegant. My son is getting ready to start his Eagle Project in Scouts. He will be scrapbooking 100 of the guests that have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Las Vegas. I am donating a lot of the stuff for is project, but he will have to buy binders, sheet protectors and adhesives (or get them donated by others) I am letting him sell cards to raise money. This is one of 10 I made for a judge that lives in our area.

The base is Whisper White with a front from Groom Specialty Paper. I embossed the Thank You from Simply Thanks in black on Whisper White, it is popped up on a piece of Glossy White paper that I ran through the Big Shot using a sizzlit from Lots of Tags.
