Reflections

The Peace on Earth card is the card we ended up making in our club this month, it was the card I reference in a post earlier this month. The second one is a card I made a couple of months ago we I was trying to come up with cards for my Punch Pals class, I didn't do this card as part of the class. The darker area under the snowman and penguin is iridescent ice.
I hope you all have a lovely holiday.

Wedding- no stamping

My son has my camera so the reflection card will have to wait... So many of my daughters friends have been getting married so I've made lots of wedding cards. This card is a CASE of one I saw a few months ago, I wish I could tell you where I had seen it but it didn't bookmark it, just filed the idea in my head. It doesn't show well in the photo but both hearts are embossed, the bride with dots, the groom with the diamonds, as well as the Whisper White that they are layered on (Texture plates, SU! backgrounds1) the half pearls are from the Pretties kit. the knot is black grosgrain ribbon, I used the large heart punch and then free cut the red hearts. White, black and red have been the popular wedding colors this year.

Sometimes cards just don't work out!

I thought I'd share 3 cards I made over the last month that just didn't work for me, I hope you enjoy them anyway. I redid the mirror image card for my club on Tuesday, I'll have to take a picture of it because it turned out so much better.
Remember the 12 days of Christmas sale... all Big Shot.

Simple and Fast-Christ is Born

When Patty Bennett first showed this technique with the Petals-a-Plenty I had to jump on board with it too. The Christ is Born stamp set is one that I bought because I like the saying, but never worked it onto a card in a way that I was happy with until now. I think I will do the same card again but emboss the words.
My 5 year old Granddaughter(who lives in our home) wanted money to buy Christmas presents. As I have several years worth of sample cards, I told her she could sell cards if she wanted(from time to time my 15 year old son has done that when earning the final money needed for scout camp etc) I sell my cards for $2.00, the seller gets one and I get one. Well She started on Monday, has sold 125 cards so far, with requests to come back to some houses on Sat., Wed. and Friday. 3/4 of my old card samples are now gone:).

Extreme Snowboard

I embossed snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes, corner to corner on the Brilliant Blue card front. The image was embossed with black on a piece of Whisper White that was spritzed with shimmer paint and alcohol. The piece of Basic Black was also spritzed.

Four the Holidays

In real life this card is so beautiful! I sprayed the Whisper White, Basic Gray, Real Red and Basic Black with a mixture of Shimmer Paint and Rubbing Alcohol I embossed the Seasons greetings in Silver and Punched a ornament out of the gray, black and red, I then ran them through the Big Shot in the Petals-a-Plenty folder. The ornaments are raised.

Home for Christmas

I love the image on this card! Water coloring seems to be my favorite thing to do. I crimped the ribbon after soaking in hairspray and letting it dry. The paper is from the Merry Moments package.

Still CASEing Dacia Smith-Delightful Decorations

Check out the card posted on July 23 to see my original CASE. I had some left over pieces from doing these cards in July and wondered what I could do with them. How did I do? I'm liking this card a lot. The ornament with the bird(Holiday Best, Hostess set) is popped up on dimensionals.

Holiday Lineup

It has been a crazy couple of weeks, and I haven't been able to post, as I mentioned before my husband and I changed offices. What a lot of work! We had to get his up and running first because that is where our income comes from. My office was not the priority. Moving a 15 foot desk up a flight of stairs was tricky, but with the help of good friends it was done. Before I was able to finish unpacking and finding places to store everything I got a phone call from one of my sisters telling me our brother-in-law died. It was a real sad situation and such a trying time for his family.

In between all this I have a son working on his Eagle scout project and a daughter moving out into her first non school apartment. So even though my blog has been silent I have been busy.

This card is a very easy card. Real Read base, with Garden Green matting. The image was embossed in black and colored with water-color wonder crayons.

I can move a basement! Punch Pals

I'm almost done with the moving of my office, I told my granddaughter that Grandpa and I are moving offices, she laughed and said you don't have an office you have a basement and now your basement is up here.

This card is a combination of many punch pal cards that I have seen on the web. I used the Merry Moments designer paper and took the colors from it.

My Crazy Life and Extreme Skateboard.

So my husband has been working from home for the last six years and with that comes the good and the bad. My house from the front looks nice and small a single level house. From the back yard it is three stories high. On the bottom floor was my very large craft room with a walk out to the back yard. On the middle floor my husband had his office it is fairly large but much smaller than my craft room.

Now for some of the bad in having a work at home husband, #1 my house isn't quiet, my husband can't concentrate when it is noisy, often I have a cranky husband. #2 my husbands office has no windows, after hours on deadlines, he feels like he is going a little crazy shut up in his office...

Saturday we decided to change rooms, my husband is moving into what was my craft room and I into what was his office. So my craft room is sitting in piles in the middle of our family room and we have moved most of my husbands office down stairs. Hopefully the change will help my husband be more productive. The windows and door to open will hopefully keep his mood elevated and being farther away from the noise of the kids will keep him concentrating better and longer.

So while I did make some wonderful cards on Friday that I am really happy with, I don't know where they are and haven't taken any pictures of them yet. This card is one that a made a week or so ago, but didn't post.
The card base is Dusty Durango CS layered with Kraft CS and I used Dusty Durrango and Chocolate Chip CS for to mat the Kraft CS that I stamped the image of the Skateboarder with Chocolate Chip ink.
Remember to go down a couple of posts and check out my pay it forward...

Lovely as a Tree

I have several pieces of water color paper left over from other projects and being the tightwad that I am I can't throw them away. These strips fit into the larger tag punch and even though the image is bigger than the tag I think it works. I stamped a piece of Really Rust with the background Sanded with Really Rust ink I added two black brads and used dimensionals to pop up the tag. The phrase is from On Your Birthday and is embossed with black. Of coarse I colored the image with Watercolor Wonder Crayons.
Remember to check the pay it forward post. Have a great week end.

Punch Pals #2

This is the second card we made in our first Christmas card class. The base is Real Red, I punched an opening in the card front with the Modern Label punch. The penguin was stamped three time on Whisper White and mounted on a strip of Basic Black. The penguins were colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Punch Pals #1

It's been a busy week! Monday and Tuesday I spent time prepping new boxes for my Wednesday open stamping days, and then on Wednesday it turned cold and rained ( I still had a few who braved the weather and showed up to stamp), it rained so much that my stamping room flooded. So Wednesday night and yesterday I cleaned up and tried to dry out carpet. Yesterday was my Halloween treats class, we had fun, 8 Frankie and 8 Draculas were made, and 4 of the mummy and sweet centers were made. So that brings us to today...
This card was one of the cards we made at the first Christmas card class. The snowman is cut out and on dimentionals, the Merry Christmas is as well. The trees are stamped directly on the card base, they were done marker to stamp. The snow drifts and shading on the snowman were done with Bordering Blue watercolor crayons and then dazzling diamonds was added. Simple but really nice in real life.

Dasher

I scored the Very Vanilla CS in a diamond pattern before stamping Dasher in Chocolate chip. I'm thinking of doing a second one but adding shimmer paint on the antler area. I pulled the colors for the mat layers from the Designer Paper (Merry Moments). the sentiment is from All Holidays. A simple and fast card.

Holiday Lineup

How many of you have a box of images that you made at some time or the other and then didn't end up using them? This is one from my box, I did it sometime last year and then never did any thing with it. The brad is where it is only because last year I used a felt snowflake and this year we don't have them. I used the designer paper from Merry Moments and pulled the card base and the mat from that. So another Christmas card finished with out much work. (at least not much work this year)

House of Haunts

This is this years Halloween card! I confess I don't really send Halloween cards, and have only received one, once (from my nephew Kyle). I use my Halloween stamps for scrap booking. This card starts with a Dusty Durango base. Happy Halloween is embossed in black. I stamped the image in Versamark and embossed it in black on Watercolor paper. With a Versamark pen I scribbled some more ground around the tree and embossed that as well. With a 3/4" punch I punched a post it note on the sticky edge and added my moon. With Watercolor Wonder Crayons I painted my sky. I used Summer Sun around my moon, the rest of the sky is a blending of Not Quite Navy, Brilliant Blue, Night of Navy, and Elegant Eggplant. It is matted with Dusty Durango and Elegant Eggplant.

Where were you in 2001? and Christmas

It's interesting at how major events effect our lives, it was a beautiful morning in Southern California and I was getting the kids off to school when my husband called and said turn on the news. I watched as the second plane hit. So today we fly the flag and wonder what we can do to make a better America.
Now for a card, I've made a lot of Christmas cards lately as I try to decide what cards to use for my monthly Christmas card classes. This one is so simple and in real life looks so great, I had so many comment on it that it will be in an upcoming class. You can't tell from the photo but the card base is Handsome Hunter, then Bravo Burgundy, then Whisper White. The Welcome Christmas is embossed Bravo Burgundy, the tree I stamped in Stazon and added Dazzling Diamonds on top. Simple but lovely.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored it with the watercolor wonder crayons. The designer paper is from Razzleberry Lemonade, the card stock is Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Rose Red. Have a great day!

Country Morning

I really like this hostess set and the Bella Bleu designer paper almost looks like chicken wire when used behind the image. Watercoloring is one of my favorite things to do when making a card, the little image of the chick and egg fits perfectly in the designer label from the Vanilla Hodge Podge. The card base is Very Vanilla CS and the designer paper as well as the image of the rooster is matted with Not Quit Navy CS. I hope you like this card. Have a great day!
